Those are some serious gorgeous backshells. The best part of Thieaudio releasing a new Monarch version is that the OG version will start being put up for sale in the classifieds. Can't wait.

Or not...depends on how the tuning changes the sound signature. It's just another variation, not necessarily "better".

Looks great though for sure.

Wow… That's nearly $ 300 more. Was hoping the difference would be $ 100-150, but now I'm not sure if the mkii are worth it:frowning2:

It's a steep difference for sure. They have upgraded the cable with swappable terminations, rather than having adapters. They say that they also updated the drivers to the latest versions. And ThieAudio is now becoming more a household name, meaning they can charge more too.

It's difficult to say how good they are without hearing them. Monarch1 will likely keep its own own fanbase.

When compared to Craft Ears Aurum, the OG Monarch held its ground for being almost half the price. This time around when the difference in cost is smaller, I think any changes must be noticeable and not minor tweaks to justify it. Fingers crossed anyway, the Monarch was really close to having all the boxes ticked.
