It is the screen cover/ protective film. Do they sell those separately?

It's not a sad things, it's an happy thing, you upgraded your system for cheap, and you didn't even excepted it to be an upgrade. If the sound was worse that would have been sad, don't you agree?
The sad thing I am referring to is that my M11 Pro, that I through was the bees knees has just been over taken by a set up that cost me £240 and as such takes the wind out of my M11 pro. This would, I guess, be my subjective sadness. Factually, I am happy that I have such a good set up with the AK4499.

Thanks for the link!
On which model of DSD have you found 0.4L working / sounding the best?
So far, I've downloaded 0.4K, 0.4L, and 0.5B - and I believe all three of my DSD players currently have 0.5B installed.
mine use single 4497, my rank is 0.4K<0.4L<0.4i
anyway how did your dsd running on 0.5B? mine got weird and weak sound as if it wasn't amped

At last I have got a AK4499. I ordered though Linsoul 3rd May, but what arrived was a AK4497. It took sometime before Linsoul would refund me. Then during an AliExpress sale I tried again through Nicehck, I ordered on June 20th and it arrived July 6th. It came in a small hard case, screen is a little marked but I think that might be the screen cover. I am running it through Schiit Magni 3+ Headphone Amplifier, with Beyerdynamic DT 1770 and it sounds great. I have a FiiO M11 Pro, which I use when outdoors and wanted the AK4499 to set up a cheap DAC AMP along with the Schiit. I am really pleased that I tried again to purchase the AK4499. The sad thing is that it's better sounding than the M11 Pro. The Schiit and the AK4499 cost a third of the M11 Pro.
really? M11 pro is a really good DAP even in its original state, 4499 DSDs is really special then. im planning to buy 1 but my modder got really busy recently so im afraid it wont sound good in its initial state

The M11 pro does sound great. I do find the the M11 pro THX amp give a very soft and clean sound, where as the 4499 DSD offers a less refine and more raw sound. Also I did not want to by £1000+ for the FiiO M15 which has the 4499.

iEmatch2.5
I have, it lower the nosies completely but it hurts the sound. I have the 2.5 and the 3.5. I tried the grounding one too, and it's even worse. I found a use to them though, I put it on the second exit of my little bear and it lower most of the noises and lower the sound volume, but without changing the quality

Thanks, I guess then to use it direct from the 2.5mm on the DSD 4499 would not be a volume advantage.
Unless you own some really expensive headphones, I suggest you and anyone else for that matter, to try to get a pair of hyperx cloud alpha, and if you really want to improve the sound quality even more, change the Cable (make sure the plug fits in the hole)

Thanks for the suggestion. I have the Beyerdynamic T5P's second generation and a custom cans cable. Unfortunately the custom cans cable is a 4.4mm and to use with the DSD4499 I need an adaptor, which I do not have. I have only one set of headphone that have a 3.5mm cable, which was really the reason I was asking about amping the 2.5.

If as mentioned here the Zishan has high output impedance, the change in sound is probably from the output impedance being lowered by the IEMatch. This will net you a more "standard" / "reference" sound but how that benefits or hurts the sound completely depends on the earphones in question, as the output impedance otherwise acts like an EQ shaped after the earphones' impedance curve. There are 'phones such as the Campfire Andromeda that are widely known to agree with more ears with at least a few ohms of output impedance, but they are in the minority.
