I also have a DSD with CS 43198, with 0.5c firmware. It works flawless at the moment.

If it ain't broken don't fix it.... so I will wait with a firmware update to version 0.5d-2.

Here is the sabb.bin from NiceHCK that I got. I'm not sure about the version because people from NiceHCK said they don't know neither. Anyway, it's worked for my Zishan DSDs 9038 version.

Yes on 0.5C everything working as usual... except problems with cue sheet tables.
Some of big files like ~2GB or more 24bit files can freezes and restart device as well. In extreme situations it causes boot loop on that files.

I was update using flash from 0.5C
DSDs boot and say about 0.5D version everything work flawlessly except DSF/DSD from 64 to 256fs all my testing samples.
They are recognize by device and start playing without sound.
I go back to 0.5C

0.5D works more smooth.
PCM files sounds somewhat more pleasing that C. I remember 0.5C sounds sharper and more aggressive than 0.5B as well.

I'm not a fan of parameters but I have some albums remastered especially for DSD and they are better than red book.
DSD was design to be better than PCM - agree and I need it too.

DSDs ES9038. Play DSD/DSF 128/256 with distortion after update ( like a repeating small pause with scratches during playback ). On stock firmware 0.5d all OK.

@Setmagic issue found also in my device after update to '0.5d-2' with 4499 and D4497, it plays MP3, M4a, WAV, FLAC however no DSF/DSD, and reboots reading some files, again it's recommended staying in 0.5c for AKM based devices and 0.5d for ESS and CS. Hopefully Zishan fix this issue also since I remove the optical output I couldn't know if the files are played via PCM.

@Setmagic, yes there are 2 versions of this file; In 0.5d is intended to only work with CS and ESS versions and have the issue of FAT-FS mentioned before. It did not work with any AKM devices. In '0.5d-2' the device works (as I know) in AKM, CS and ESS devices corrected the issue of FAT-FS but did not work as you mentioned also on USB-DAC mode sometimes there's a kind of stop and then continues the playback, I think is an issue with the USB implementation.

I will roll back to 0.5C since I have some files in DSD/DSF and I use more the device as DAC.

Thank You for feedback.
It would be more simpler if Zishan just release firmware open for modifications like rockbox.

Today will arrive Murata X7R and NP0 highest quality ceramic capacitors and Cardas TIN-SILVER.
I will replace everything as possible follow @slavalun and @maxifuny guidelines.
In this week also replace LDO for that was left in stock Micrel MIC5323-3,3 0,3A

After change some of caps for way better one and superb LDO sound improvement is very noticeable, finally i have way more space and separation.
I thing most of this change made by better LDO.
SMD 1210 with big capacitance are very expensive, only Samsung 100uF 10V X5R is in reasonable price in my country and i must order at least 50 for better price.
I will need 36 x100uF.
Resistors are always very important in DSDs ? I see some decent VISHAY 1% 0,2W -55-155*C but minimum quantity is 100 one single type.
So it will be cost around 80$ for parts.
Is it worth?

I was replaced all smallest SMD caps nearby opamps for NP0 15nF and I just figure out these caps had 2nF, 1nF and 0,1nF values.
I'm understand that was big mistake?

4 little caps nerby PO opamp have 0,1nF
6 little ones on each LPF OPA have 4x1nF and 2x2nF

Looks that zishan is developing SW and HW since it's based on ARM CPU it looks it's based on the same CPU of T1/M1 one single board and addition of BTH and Amanero device, little FPGA like Hiby and Pentaconn

Nice, a new release.
Was expecting something new from zishan, since old models stock in Ali is very low, looked like they were expecting something new.
This is one double side board, all fits one PCB.
I like the 2x opa1622 and the BL output. Also amanero-like USB-C interface and BT looks interesting and must have.
Can't comment on ES9038Q2M sound because I don't have one.
