Felt that about the Grand Maestro. Smaller Eartips may help.
It was the Shell itself just stretching out my ear easily the most painful I have ever tried … nice smooth sound with recessed vocals and humongous bass but couldn’t enjoy if I’m in pain

I had a brief demo of Trifecta a few moths ago, and here's a copy/paste of what I thought at the time:

" I’d been listening to Xe6 on my walk over to prepare my ears, but I was still pretty overwhelmed by all that bass. This is easily the highlight of Trifecta, just gobs of deep rich bass you can lose yourself in on tracks like Gorillaz “Tomorrow Comes Today”. Upper mids and treble however were very disappointing, especially for a 3k+ asking price, I felt some vocals and percussion details to be smeared over and wallowing behind that wall of bass. Stage was also kind of odd, on some tracks it was tall and wide enough, but lacking in depth and centre imaging. A very fun IEM to be sure, but CFA are asking quite a lot for a one-trick pony like this. "

So yeah, for some rap & hip-hop Trifecta would be awesome. Considering the breadth of what I listen to however, and that it can be had as a custom, Xe6 is a much better choice for me.

If you are thinking of spending the 3k+ for either of them, you really should try to audition them for yourself to see which works best for you.
Also xe6 size comfort and build quality are sooo good ! While having that crazy engaging sound quality .. big-time keeper

Somehow the Grand Maestro nozzle felt wider than my LCD-i4. It sounded beautiful but it did cause a bit of discomfort for me as well. The Maestro, Maestro Mini, and Scarlet were much better fit wise.

Which IEM did you use for this song. This was the first song I played when I got a bazooka installed in my car in 1994 .....regulateeee
I actually used Phil Phone created by @Zerousen. It is the best tuned bass oriented headphone on the market imho.

The IEM I use for 90s hip hop Trifecta, it pulls ahead of XE6 and Legend X easily due to its 3D sound, texture and massive slam.

They absolutely do, Ken Ball used the golden brick as his reference equipment when tuning Trifecta.

I did not know that.. Been a long time since I've owned anything from Campfire and the Golden Brick is calling me... I'll have to take that into consideration. I'm looking for a new DAP but having a hard time justifying replacing my DX300.

Mine is still a keeper – portability, power with AMP12, warm CL DAC – despite less playtime among my Ti bricks.
