I have read a forum post some long time ago, where someone swapped cables in a very high end stereo system and let some audiophiles blind test which they liked better. At some point he used an old coat hanger to transmit the signal. Nobody noticed.
Did anyone ever see actual pictures of said coat hanger cable if not stop bringing up this urban legend!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :zipper_mouth::zipper_mouth::zipper_mouth:

Just provided links, there are numerous articles (with pictures) from different sources reproducing the test.

Here, you can make your own (and sell it for 2k)

*edit* here are some links:

https://consumerist.com/2008/03/03/do-coat-hangers-sound-as-good-monster-cables/

There is more but this should suffice. It was tested multiple times.

*edit the second* I misunderstood your question, but the answer is still that it wouldn't make a difference
Always fun to read and - let us be honest - containing a grain of truth. Just can't imagine to wear coat hangers overears...

There are plenty of reasons for swapping cables for headphones and IEMs especially :)

not for the price you need to pay for most of them today though

Took me a little while to figure this out, but once I did, I've been trying to look for as much variety in my gear as I can handle.

To that end, and this probably is the end for now, I've placed an order:

I know RN6 is all the rage atm, but on account of my "measure twice cut once, to be sure, to be sure" kind of approach with anything at this sort of price, well here I am. finally.
Awesome! I tried the Xe6 right after the more traditionally-tuned Rn6, and I found it to have so much character and funk to it. As someone who gravitates towards more unique sigs now that I have most of my bases covered, the Xe6 was one lovely unicorn. :D

‘CanJam SG report is still on the way, by the way! As it always is with me, it’s turning out a bit longer than expected. Stay tuned!

Yeah, it is this and other reports I've read about Rn6 that finally convinced me to pull the trigger on Xe6. For me, Rn6 would not be Xe6-enough, kind of a half measure compromise.

If there is one thing I learned from Breaking Bad, it's that there are no more half measures..

That has been exactly my thinking: either all or nothing! In view of what I have read, the Rn6 seems to be somehow a stripped Xe6.

Today I will be able to test the Xe6. After that I will see if I want to buy it. I am very excited.

Keeping away the lovely cooler tag that Jim had kindly given… With excitement of CanJam over, the lingering euphoria of meeting Coolers and reminiscing over the great and wondrous bond we’ve come to forge (@Kiats, @HiFiHawaii808, @yaps66, @Sifo, @klyzon, @SteveK27, @AxLvR, @Deezel177), I almost teared up when the time came to say final goodbyes. I’m sure plenty will give their insights on gear, but that wasn’t the highlight of CanJam for me. @Eric Chong, who graced us with his time despite his crazy busy schedule to have lunch with us… till we meet again 🥹
have not been posting much recently since i'm having trouble with my furkids, but am really glad to have met everyone who made their way down to Singapore. A good meetup for me to destress and also getting to know all of you people is really the highlight.

Personally I didn't get to try much @ canjam since I had limited time, and also i probably needed coffee to go along with listening sessions. Thanks to everyone for your kind words and concerns for my furkids! Will definitely want to meet everyone all over again once I'm in the right state.

Cheers to watercoolers!

I'm sad I did not get a chance to try your SolP! Thanks for taking the trouble to bring it though!

That photo must have happened on Saturday. I didn’t get the memo at all!
It was. I looked around for a bit, knowing for sure you would stand out but I missed you - my bad 😥

For future photo shoots I would suggest picking one single moment, say 12:00, and either everyone is there, or not.

The only common denominator of the photos yes, but IIRC @Eric Chong EA might have been at all three, even though he isn't pictured at all.
We took pics with Eric during a lunch that err... ate away half of CJ time. To my surprise only 1 picture out of at least a dozen taken over both days has shown up here.

That has been exactly my thinking: either all or nothing! In view of what I have read, the Rn6 seems to be somehow a stripped Xe6.
Better news still: They have nothing in common and that's the reason Rn6 has taken a (shared) no 1 position for me.

I was very happy we were able to meet up again as I was really getting worried about the dogs. Ben probably added me to the spam list after all my messages about them, knowing that you would be too busy to respond.

Ok. This was my first CanJam event and what a high bar it has set for any future CanJam I attend!

I thought I would take the lazy way of sharing my experience in pictures instead of words so here goes! What this consists of are pre-show photos, show photos and post-show photos. Enjoy!
