Oriolus Percivali on its way to me to demo thanks to @endless402 ...really looking forward to hearing this one :)
Oh, yes!! Since Reborn is perma out of stock, it will be nice to hear your impressions to juxtapose with @jwilliamhurst's Crassi take. One of those must be mine at some point. They are the best candidates for my "upgraded Solaris" attempt. Then I am done. Really... :stuck_out_tongue:

I'm actually tempted to pick up an OG Solaris on the used market just to compare to the Reborn. The more time I spend with Reborn the more I suspect that while it certainly excels Solaris in some ways (sub-bass rumble, mid-range presence & openness) I think the integration of the BA & DD drivers may have been a little better on Solaris resulting in a mid-range that came off more naturally (that is to say more integrated into the whole sig) if not as open, consistent or nuanced.

You should, I've seen OG's on here for <$600.
Did you ever hear the OG on M8? Not sure if those paths crossed for you?

No problem. It’s not the perfect iem but I think a good step up from the Solaris in many areas without breaking the bank. Hope you enjoy!

The funny name of the channel caught my attention but I stayed for this interesting video on tips. A couple of my faves were mentioned and there are a couple I need to try.

Edit:

Shared on FB a couple weeks ago-- I think a good metric for bass response can be derived from this.

Another good vid from the same guy above:

The Vision Ears VE7 is probably single biggest "all BA temptation" at the moment.

I'm really thinking about taking a hit on it, I'd have to sell off a cable and the BTR5 as well as either the Dorado 2020, Z1R (due to being a little similar to Odin in FR) or VE8 if I were to get it. Which would get the chop would depend on which I preferred out of it and the VE8... It's like choosing between your children though haha and the thought of a VE DD based IEM on the horizon is also another reason im hesitant.

What about Holocene? :) It's only six fiddy

You can imagine VE7 as loosely being a leaner clearer (less thick or warm) version of VE8

I already have two CFA IEMs and my conscience is smiting me for not having a VE IEM in my lineup. Honestly though as @Tristy alluded I won't be breaking $1K on any IEM until the VE EVE 21 comes out.

Edit: And yes Holocene is still mighty tempting.

Ranfan you have heard the VE7 and the Campfire Q4 haven't you? How would you say they stack up against one another? (Seeing as the Holo is basically a repackaged Q4).

I can't speak for @ranfan but I know @ExpatinJapan has the Q4 and I think he says it's basically the same as the Holocene sound-wise.
