Apologies for the lapse, but I recently received Sound Dragon Sonata, which is SE in/out. As ever pairs superbly with all Lotoo DAPs while also improving on even Hugo 2 in terms of soundstage and dynamic. Perfect counterpart to the more intimate and visceral Loud amp. Went for a sort of candy red this time around because...not everything can be black and brown.

My long wait is over, the Sinfonía is in London, but I'm not lol, will get it very soon after paying the hefty customs charge, also looking forward to the Haru Afterglow Diva cable

Im looking at a second hand unit, how does it compare to his newer releases? Is it still relevant?
I don't think it's easy at all to find a second hand, no-one sells ,must be great as I'm sure I'll find out soon

@Nostoi Thank you for starting this thread and keeping it going. These amps look really interesting and they seem like an exceptional value.

Do you still think that they sound best when double-amping from a headphone out from a DAP or dongle DAC? Or do you prefer a variable line out?

My pleasure; happy to spread the word. They really are exceptional value, indeed, especially in terms of their performance (and even with customs tax!)

For me, it depends on synergy. The Lotoo pairing is really good because of the variable line out - you're hearing the Sound Dragon on its own terms. But because these amps are so quiet and clean, double amping isn't really a problem. Mojo 2/Hugo 2 work super well - you get the clarity of the Chord DAC with wider staging and better dynamics.

Hope you can give it a go.

Let me contrast this with my very positive experience, even having paid a little extra to the UK Gov I am very happy with price and performance, it's a gem and the difference is immediate apparent, but after several minutes glaring obvious, makes Project M get closer to TOTl iem, on to trying other items and cans in my honeymoon 😉🥂
