It either works properly out of the gate, or I don't buy it until it does.
 

There are more to digitally processed Audio signals before it get to an external DAC/AMP than simply form/features/memory slots. It will be very interesting to see how well Fiio will pull it

 
Sure, but if it fails in any of those areas ... storage capacity, indexing speed, usability and stability, then how it "sounds" will be moot because I won't buy it.

I hope they may be interchangeable and that both sockets will allow charging as well as USB digital audio out.
 
Even better if it can output audio and charge at the same time from a single port.
