Cool to see the 009 getting love, which has typically been a bit rare, but seems to be shared a bit more lately.

Continue to be impressed with the SR L300*/SRM400s pairing, easily competes with the HD800S and the combo comes out similarly priced. (that is if one already has a head-amp for the 800)
The Stax are clearer with a darker background, this shows up in differentiating the layers, quite obvious on this recording of Babbit's piece for String Quartet,

...the 800S may have a bit more mid range body but the treble can sound slightly artificial in comparison to the L300.
Also I find the staging, while narrower, more linear with the Stax but I wouldn't say one is an overall better phone, almost comes down to the recording.
Still curious as to how much the L700 might be a step up over the HD800S and worth the upgrade.

* (my L300 have the thicker leather pads and MKII headband assembly)

Instead of selling my sr-009bk I ended up only selling the srm-700s. Bought a srm-600 limited (in near perfect condition) in return. I now feed the stax setup with an audio-gd r28 and that brings a very smooth and easy listenable setup to the table. Glad I ended up not selling the 009bk!
Found out today that near mint means the old owner replaced all weak/faulty resistors and swapped the stock tubes for newer ones.
I always liked the sr-009bk out of my SRM-700S and SRM-353x but never loved it. Although it is a small step down in sheer detail it is a step or 3 up in musicality coming from the SRM-700S to the SRM-600 limited. I think I would still prefer the SRM-700S for the 007A/mk2 that I had before.

I have an SR-006t with a CCS mod from Mjolnir Audio that's currently not producing any sound or noise no matter the source. I had an issue where the left channel was much quieter and had a buzzing noise in early 2023. I sent it to be fixed and it turned out to be the HV- line not working. A resistor connecting the two capacitors failed and one of the capacitors was starting to bulge, both were replaced and the amp worked until September 2024.
For a little while I wouldn't get sound the first time I turned it on but after turning it off and on again it worked. After getting back from a long work trip in early October it stopped working entirely.
I tested the DC offset between + and - on each channel for both sockets, no issues.
I played a 1000 hz signal at max volume and followed it from the input board as far as I could to the volume control. Nothing stood out.
I'm using an Audio GD D27 as a balanced source which powers my ESP95X setup just fine through RCA.
Any ideas what's going on?

Hi dear members, first post here! I'm wondering: There are estat amps with outputs for two headphones, but they have only one volume control for both outputs, so what happens about sound volumes when using two different estat models simultaneously? Why even expensive amps don't provide two volume settings?

Two volume settings is impossible. The pot is before the circuit
