Buying 003Mk2 IEM makes sense if already have L700 with 353X ? Do I get deeper bass, similar resolution, more intense sound (being closer to the ear) ?
003MK2 isn't made for human ears, superbly uncomfortable.
It sounds very similar to L700 , no point in buying it anyway if you already have L700.

If you are not in a hurry, maybe you can wait for stax new IEM.
I asked one Stax stuff and he comfirmed that stax is working on a new IEM BUT the shape of the new IEM doesn't change a lot and we have no idea about when it will be released.

I can check my L300ltd when I get home, but yes. In general the L-Series produces squeaky sounds when fiddling with them.
I have yet to notice anything while listening to them, though.

But boy, the plastic build sucks. Does not feel >1k until you put them on your head. Not pretty either... but the sound. Hmmm hmm!

STAX came out with a new style earpiece accessory for their SR-003mk2. the CES-A1:
https://staxaudio.com/earpad/stax-ces-a1

It removes the overhead steel band and allows each EarPods to independently mount directly in the folds of the ear pinna.

I bought the set around a year ago for my ST-003mk2, and found them supremely comfortable. Can wear them for hours without being aware they are in my ears. Totally opposite experience to their original sadistic metal head band design, which I could only stand to wear for about 10-15 minutes.

With the included ET-A1 earpiece, the earpod to ear canal seal is much improved for better bass than the original. Also the included CC-A1 back covers help in flattening the frequency response without removing the open sound of the uncovered original design. A nice trick.

These features make the SR-003mk2 w/CES-A1 a great alternative to wear when the temperature climbs too high for the over-ear STAX models where profuse sweating is a problem.

I have CES-A1 - it has somewhat improved comfort, but sound changed too much.
003 used to sound very similar to L700, but making it closed ruined it.

One does not have to use the covers if it screws up the SQ too much for you.

I like to use both the earpieces and covers. IMO, the 003 and the L700 sound quite different. Sold my L700s a long time ago.
