BTW, where is the best place to get the L700 and a driver? I'm from the EU. The Stax USA site seems to ship worldwide but will I get an EU version of the driver (for 220\240V, 50 Hz)?
When it comes to subbass, who can say what's neutral? I find the subbass on the L700 unsatisfactory and lacking compared to other Stax, lambda Nova signature and 007mk1.
I don't believe in different headphones for different purposes. There exist headphones that are good for everything, and satisfactory in every way.
Haha no worries, we apparently just hear differently and that's okay. Pretty much what this "hobby" is all about, actually, and why people need to hear and decide for themselves.
The L700 subbass is satisfactory for me but I can hear a rolloff. I think the L700 is still the best Lambda overall with the best tonal balance still and prefer it to the 007 due to the 007s tendency to sound boxy in the bass. and the treble sounding a bit to laid back for personal taste. The only Stax I think is better than the L700 is actually the Sr009 and that is mostly because of the 009 bass having better extention. Overall the L700 and 009 are more similar than different. I'm probably going to skip the 009 and see if the 009S has treble similar to the slightly more laid back L700 and hopefully fuller mids and bass compared
Has anyone tried the Vesper Audio Lambda pads with the L700 or really any of the advanced lambda line? Im thinking of picking up a pair with leather on inside and outside and alcantera on the contact as I dont exactly like leather on my skin.

Yea base price is 62 usd. Add 3 usd for memory foam or 8 for angling. You pay shipping. That's if I remember correctly. So significantly cheaper than pads from stax so ima give them a go.
