The Stax SR-L500 and SR-L700 Impressions Thread

Are the Mjolnir transformers better than the old Stax SRDs? I know spritzer uses Lundahls in his newer, more expensive designs.
https://mjolnir-audio.com/

I've read through the Mjolnir website a few times. He says some of the Stax transformers are quite good, and salvages some to repackage in his energizer cabinets, but he includes modern connectors and some circuitry (described on the website, so I won't mis-quote here) Stax doesn't use. My birthday is coming up, I may ask for an SRD-1 and hope he has one in stock.

The listings up now don't mention the Lundahl transformers. I have a web page copy from a few months ago that shows the back of a Mjolnir SRD-7 labeled as Lundahl, with this comment:
"First batch is sold out but I’ll make more once Lundahl can send me some new transformers. Page updated 21.10.2021"

edit: he also said the Lundahl units are "lower in ratio", so they need a higher power amplifier. (More voltage.)

The SR-L500 Mk.2 has sounded different and enjoyable with each of the (integrated) amplifiers I have tried so far: Wadia 151 (25W/Class D), W4S mINT (100W/D), bel canto c5i (60W/D), Dussun T6 (100W/Class A). (My favorite by a sizeable margin is the (30 lb.) Dussun T6.)

Maybe I'll just move on up the SR-L700 Mk.2 and call it a day.
I wouldn't call L700 Mk2 as an upgrade over L500. They are different and not better for everybody. I prefer L500 for their sound signature. Also L700 Mk2 are treble murders. L300 Limited are much safer to buy instead of L700.

I really like the sound of the SR-L500 Mk.2, especially with the way it is being driven at the moment (Mjolnir SRD-7 + Dussun T6).
May go for broke and pick up the SR-007Mk.1 (O2), which would complete a longstanding "Stax quest" for me.

Thank you.
Having a week "alone" with the SR-L500 Mk.2 has won me over.
Just hope that the Mjolnir/Dussun T6 duo will be enough for the 007. I am at and beyond adequate L500 Mk.2 volume levels with the Dussun at merely 2.5/10.

Oh, well . . . just ordered a "one-off" Mjolnir KGSSHV (the latest of the prior version, refurbished and fitted with updated PSU).
Birgir/Spritzer said that the current demands of the 007 Mk.1 will exceed the SRD-7's transformer capability, regardless of amplification.
Am selling off pretty much everything, except the SR-L500 Mk.II (<--the "II" looks more noble than the "2") and the HiFiMan Ananda. (See revised signature.)

Has anyone tried the new e-stat amp from Bottlehead? There's hardly any information on it. Interested in knowing how it sounds with either the L500 or L700 and what kinds of inputs it features.
