Thanks for interesting and good quality pics but isn't it a bit hard to take those small tubes out of their sockets (the front ones)?

You can't tube roll with this amp, so you won't be removing them except to replace them as they wear out. Not a big priority.

The headband of the HD598 looks so well built now.  Oh, and interesting looking amp as well

What are your impressions soundwise? There have been so few opinions of the actual SQ, but I guess its very early days yet.

What about the tubes makes it so you can't tube roll?

There is no direct western equivalent of either tube.  If the amp is designed for the 6N1P, you can't use the 6DJ8/6922, as you will just burn them up.  And there is no close equivalent to the 6N6P - I think the 5687 is remotely close, but I can't find an English datasheet on the 6N6P.
 
In any case, the amp is designed for the tubes in it.  Rolling in this case is a bad idea.  Nothing to be gained other than trouble.  Which does not mean anything in terms of how the amp sounds, just that it won't be possible to change that sound.

Great! I've just ordered an E9 and all of a sudden I want a Schiit!  And the cans look awesome to. *jumping up and down like a child waiting for sweets* Hurry up already with a review :wink:

awesome looking setup and if you ever get sick of the valhalla :) wink wink find me please i would give my left foot for a used one. but anyways aside from my jealousy it just looks beautiful great job on the photo itself also
