Paying 30K or even 40K for IEMs it totally reasonable, headphones should be double that honestly. You probably cant even hear a difference in digital cables thats why you're so wrong about everything.

How you manage to achieve top-tier snobbery AND stupidity in the same post is astounding. You’ve shown time and time again, you are one of the most pretentious and ignorant, individuals on the site, so if my opinions are the opposite of yours, I will gladly take that as a compliment. I almost always give people the benefit of the doubt, but you have 100% lost that privilege.
I won’t take the time or energy to try to defend myself to your childish retort. I’ll let my previous posting history and your previous posting history speak for themselves.
Respond/reply all you want, you’ll be ignored from this point forward.

Seriously though, you are looking at a pair of rare NOS tubes. You don’t like it, don’t buy ‘em. Or do and let us know how they are. Actually curious how they sound…
I use the 12v version the b36. I find them to be lovely tubes, usually with really good timbre accuracy and “weight.” If the 12v version approaches a quarter of what this listing is for the 6v I will immediately sell them and buy some new speakers or something. No tube is worth more than amplifiers, speakers, etc. when it comes to impact on sound quality. There are plenty of other *sn7 tubes that I can enjoy equally even though they sound different. Maybe a well heeled collector would like to find a perfect pair with boxes to put on display would be willing to pay this price. It’s priced for suckers basically lol.

theres an outfit called valves and more passing off all the 3rd tier tubes like "philips ecg" sylvania as high dollar. i dont know if they sell em but theyre tryin!
I don’t think the hobby will exist in 20 years. The only reason it exists now is because there have been millions of old tubes laying around for people to try and argue about. Once you can’t do that people will be forced out of the tube rolling hobby. They will just sit around and enjoy the music coming out of their system. The horror!
As a follow up to my exhortation to stop using eBay, I think I have finally tracked down my white whale 6sn7 at a very good price.
I once owned a pair of metal base Sylvania 6sn7wgt. They were easily the best sounding 6sn7 I had at the time. Sadly, I left them in the amps when I sold them 20 years ago. Big mistake. They were kind of expensive even back then, think I paid close to $100 a tube. Now they are priced into the stratosphere. I have since become convinced that the 14n7 is the equivalent of that metal base Sylvania 6sn7wgt but couldn’t prove it.
I haven’t bought any tubes in 6 months or so but assertions in this thread had me doing price checks at dealers. Once I had satisfied my curiosity about 6sn7, 12sn7, and 7n7 prices I started to idly search for other tubes, as one does. Came across a dealer I had never heard of before. On a whim I searched for 6sn7 and he had 4 used metal based Sylvania 6sn7wgt listed for $20 each. Added those to the bag and then saw he also had 4 used 6l6gc for $30 each with a picture of the RCA black plate. Before I ordered I figured I better check. It seemed too good to be true.
Sadly, it was. He did have the Sylvania but only one. It tests strong but the band has a split in it. $20 is well worth it. Took it and a Raytheon 6sn7wgt as well. The 6l6gc weren’t RCA but Sylvania and he only had 3. Took them too for the hell of it. I don’t ever expect to get a deal like that again but who knows. Keep checking the dealers!
I plan on comparing the 14n7 and this 6sn7wgt. This one doesn’t have the support rod like the first pair I had and the 14n7 but they still sell for crazy prices. I hope they sound the same. I have plenty of 14n7
Not sure if a link to this site has been posted before but as I’ve just come across it and have found it to be fascinating I thought I would post it here. It takes some navigating but there is a wealth of information here!
