Seriously though, you are looking at a pair of rare NOS tubes. You don’t like it, don’t buy ‘em. Or do and let us know how they are. Actually curious how they sound…
Anybody that wants to pay hanoitubes the damn near hilarious prices they ask is most welcome to. Most of us are polite and courteous enough to just think "duh" to ourselves.
They are out of stock on nearly everything worth pursuing…” is just silly. If by worth pursuing you mean the particular models collectors pursue then sure. If you mean good sounding 6sn7 then $200 a pair is pretty expensive. And once again, buying from decent sellers means you don’t have to buy your own tester or scrounge for pairs. NOS 6sn7 does not have to mean GEC b65 or Telefunken. RCA 6sn7gtb or just about any 7n7 are quality tubes and are still readily available at much lower prices than the now super rare ones. And of course they are less expensive than the
Really? I’m rich! Doing a Quick Look on eBay and I see quite a range. Sure, there are always the crazy sellers but there are plenty of quality Sylvania and RCA being sold at under $20 for those tubes. Specific tubes will sell at a premium of course but there are still plenty of solid tubes at pretty cheap prices.
They are still super cheap at actual dealers. Just checked my usual places and the prices are $10-$35 for both tubes. You can easily get 7f7 or 14f7 super cheap as well. Those have the extra advantage of only being from Sylvania’s earliest run of 6sl7 versions. NOS American twin triodes in loctal or 12v are still considered commodities by dealers at this point. But yes, prices will continue to go up as those tubes catch on.
I only buy truly weird tubes that nobody else cares about on eBay these days. Things like ktz41, gu50, etc. Mind you, once upon a time things like the b36, 14n7, 5a/152m, and VT60 were among those unloved tubes.

hanoi tubes asks 2x-5x the real price or the retail price. some of these sellers are fine putting tubes up for sale at outrageous prices and never selling. there are maybe 5 of em on flea bay who have quite an inventory.

Paying 30K or even 40K for IEMs it totally reasonable, headphones should be double that honestly. You probably cant even hear a difference in digital cables.
