It’s especially crazy considering the hoops most people would have to jump through to Use them at all. My gut feeling is that there weren’t that many of the tube to begin with, people got excited about them here on Head-fi and whoever actually had some decided to jack up the price since there isn’t seemingly any completion selling them. I’d be willing to try them and get the adapters for less than $30-$40 but not more.
IMHO don't bother. If you really want them, try EL3N instead.

I still have 5 of them from the days of Elise. They were cheap back then.
You could sell them at a good profit - and buy more tubes lol...Who can resist those paper tax exempt stamps?

I could but I have never bothered selling tubes unless privately. I gave one to @paramesh with the adapter when I sold off GOTL.

I gave off quite a few nice tubes as part of the sale, including a 25sn7 and a pair of GEC L63 straight glass and Cetron 6336b.

While I was away on vacation I realized I hadn’t really given the ecc31 a fair shake in my amp because I didn’t try different tubes in the preamp. So out came the b36 and in went the 14n7. Big change. I think this is much closer to what I consider good sound. I got back some depth and detail and generally it sounds better balanced. I am getting a bit of glare in the upper midrange. Steel strings are really ringing out for example. I’m going to let the ecc31 cook a while. Don’t think I even have 10 hours on them yet. Looks like I don’t need those adapters I had been considering. That’s good cause I’ve come up with some others to order lol.

14N7 or ECC31 or both?

14N7 or ECC31 or both?
Sorry if I was unclear… I changed the tubes in my preamp from b36 to 14n7 and left the ecc31 driving 6aq5 in my amp. I had been considering ordering some adapters to allow me to use either 2x 6j5 or 2x 6n7 with paralleled triodes. Won’t have to do that now that I’m getting good sound from the ecc31.

As far as new adapters I will make good on my threat to get 2x triode wired 6v6/6f6/6k6 etc. to 6sn7. Might get yet another output tube adapter as well but still researching that.
