I wonder if the observations some (including me) have about the Quattro lacking treble is simply due to the mids and bass being so prominent.

100% Bass drowns out the upper mid and treble gain on bassier sounds.

This is a polarizing IEM for me I keep flip flopping on my opinion of it.

When I am critical listening to it. Bass is super monotone and Lacks texture and detail, Saturates the entire presentation, the Mids and timber and Tonality is to die for and the treble is nice but a bit muted.

When I am not listening to the Quattro I keep saying to myself those mids and vocals ummmmmmm so yummy all else is forgiven and just sit back and enjoy this IEM ....end or review.

I might need to throw some spring tips on this bad boy then? Having seconds thoughts on whether I should have have gone with a Hype 4 or stay with this set? Guess I will find out once the Quattro arrives.

Thank you. You have the respect and gravitas in this thread to point out the attraction to, and flaws with, the Quattro. For others to do so is a bit of a roll of the dice as to how their observations will be received.

+1 on the silver cable pairing with Quattro. I'm using Tri Wolfram and think they sound great together!

The Wolfram is the cable I usually keep in my Vortex. Trying it now in the Quattro, you are absolutely right, and at that price it is a no-brainer purchase.

For me the treble is way more extended on my 10th. The ESTs highs give a beautiful liquid clarity quality comparatively to the Fan 2. I like the Fan 2 very much and keep it in my general rotation.....but I the 10th. I find it such a rewarding IEM. Maybe I'm lucky and got a pristine sounding copy.

I probably can see the 10th as more refined. It was the earlier post, suggesting the 10th was more “relaxed” than the Fan2, that puzzled me. But we all hear differently, and even if we heard the same thing we judge what we hear differently, so I was just wondering how others compared the 10th and Fan2.

I've been eyeing 10th anniversary or Og Thieaudio Oracle.. I just love vocals that much.. does og Oracle have good techs? In mids it would be my perfect preference and how does it fare against 10th anniversary?

Curious, does anyone know of any easy way to replace the nozzle grill for the Serial without damaging the grill itself? I wanna swap it out with another filter but wanna keep the originals intact.

I love bass. I love treble. I love mids. But I was not getting any highs on this thing without EQ but I seem to be one of the few so maybe I don’t know squat. But, as I’ve said, I’m not a treblehead because Simgot tuning is too much for me but on a scale from 1-10 in treble and upper mids the Simgot is like an 8 or 9 for me and the Quattro like a 1 or 2

My thoughts on the Quattro

I really enjoy this set when not trying to listen to it and just sit back and let the music play and the Quattro to do it's thing.

Magical Musical Mids some of the best I have ever heard and makes you forget about all the other flaws when you just let your brain turn off and enjoy the music.

Critical listening flaws.
Power Pig - needs power can't really be driven off a phone or low powered dongle.
Source dependant - a warmer source if that your only one will exasperate the bass thickening even more.
Tip dependant of you don't have a great variety you will not be able to bring out the best of this IEM

Detail and seperation is not strong on this one.

Really sums up a lot of the comments that I have been seeing, most of the cons in what this set is not doing are what I love and look for in a set but these magical musical mids are intriguing. Dsnuts review of this set painted quite the picture of a most promising purchase but I suppose that's why it is important to wait for others to weigh in before you go balls deep into the unknown. Live and learn. Great review as always Monk!
