I've bought a few XINHS cables before, but I'd never pay that much for a cable and definitely not from Aliexpress.

No. Mine was a custom cable, made after an extended discussion with the seller based on the specs I wanted and purchased through a different link.

I paid only a fraction of that price and certainly not anywhere near it. The way I understand it, prices on custom chifi listings like these are usually open to negotiation. The price quoted to me was about twice of the original 2-strand, and I negotiated a modest further discount, and it seemed fair for a cable of this quality.

As far as I know, @zikarus has one of these cables on the way as well, price negotiated on my advice, but I have no idea if it was purchased through this listing or if there have been other buyers as well.

The photos are of my cable and the listing was probably created after I purchased it so I’m guessing they liked the result enough to offer it to anyone else who wants it. But if anyone is in the least bit interested I strongly suggest you contact the seller to discuss the price as well as any further customisation you want.

I'm looking forward to the 10th because no one has a bad word to say about it, in fact quite the opposite....it may well be the best reviewed IEM I have seen. Not expecting miracles though. When I ordered the 10 AE I got some crappy cheap single DD iem as the free gift. They sound terrible.

With the Turbo I asked for a cable instead. I received some thin cheap-looking cable as the free gift. I haven't even bothered to try it as it looks and feels horrible.

They were free so I really can't complain. I just see other people post about some really good free gifts they've received and I'm a little jealous, I can't lie.

I liked the 2-strand version of this cable a lot. That much that I wanted to try more of Xinhs mid-tiers. After you had informed me that you bought the same cable but in a custom 8-wire configuration I contacted Xinhs and began a conversation with him ending up buying two more cables (but not your 8-wire custom yet). This order had to be cancelled though as I was/am on vacation and the shipping could not be delayed from his side in order to arrive after my return. So we agreed that I would contact him again two weeks later.

Within this 14 days he sent me a picture of the meanwhile finished custom cable he had made for you. And that picture made me change my mind and buy one of those too, when I finally ordered a second time.

In the discussion about pricing Xinhs sent me the link to the custom cable, which now had obviously become a regular offer in his shop at quite a steep price, I would not have paid. So after some negotiation we finally agreed on a reasonable pricing being quite exactly what you had paid too -rowan-....

Fan 2, XINHS 8 core graphene cable and Final Audio Type E tips, Schiit Magni +.

Playing The Cranberries “Ode to My Family” 2020 remaster and “Linger” from Qobuz sound terrific.

After much messing with tips on and off over a couple of months I think for my ear anatomy the Type E tips seem to give the cleanest mid range that really works well on female vocals. Other tips seem to be just a touch less clear on some vocals to my ear.

If it is of use to anyone, the graphene XINHS is very nice, it has a nice square weave, is super supple, has essentially no memory at all and is a nice weight and diameter compromise. I have several of their 4 core cables and find them a bit bulky and not as pleasant to use as 8 cores of finer wire.

It seems that you have done the R&D, and they have multiplied the cost... I don't know, but because of materials, and taking into account that the cores in the 8-core version are thinner than in the 2-core version, twice the price seems more reasonable.

The fee bee is just that a free bee. Good way for Penon to get rid of old stock of stuff that sit around. I suppose getting something for free is never a bad thing regarless of value. Penon has always been good about rewarding their patrons. I got a free scarf once during Chirstmas. Penon branded scarf. Not too many folks can say they got a Christmas scarf.

I can assure you that my Meze Elite is quite similar in tuning to my Penon Impact with code 23, saving the distances. The truth is that the Elite, when I changed the cable, and I got the new angled pads, have taken a step forward, but the timbre is similar enough. I am very happy with the purchase despite the outlay, and between the two of them (and my pocket) they are guilty for me skipping the 10th (although this thread is tempting me)
