Chin sliders, the unsung heroes of cable ergonomics. All cables should have them, especially the heavy ones. I recently bought a "flagship" NiceHCK called DragonScale and it's an absolute garden hose. And no chin slider!? What!? I had to repurpose a cable tie so I could use it! Did sound brilliant though.
I was curious about the DragonScale but the AE reviews weren’t very helpful and I didn’t find much here. I’d be interested any impressions you can give about its general sound profile or synergies, while I literally try to wrap my head around the Bass (sound impressions to come once I get them to stay put).

With the Totem (and Volt) for comparison. Yes, thiccer than the Totem.
Surprised there doesn’t seem to have been much comment on the ergonomics of the Bass cable yet. I usually am down for a good chonky cable but I think this may be approaching my limits of chonkiness. And I usually don’t like ear guides (and sometimes even specifically request for my cables to be made without) but here is one cable where I concede that ear guides may have been useful, at least until the cable develops some memory of its own. Until then, I’m using the chin slider to keep it in place. Another thing I never use on cables. Usually I don’t care if the thing has a functioning chin slider and if it was missing altogether, I might not even notice. But here I am using a chin slider for the first time in my life and I can confirm that it does as it’s told.
Non vented would give me 5 min of listening pleasure before pressure build up.
The new Aurora looks interesting tho.
The constant posts about stating thier warranty policies really put me off quite honestly. But of I get a chance I would love to hear a few and understand what the hype is all about!
The warranty isn't that huge of a deal. Some of the mainstream brands dont even honor their warranty or ask you to pay for shipping/repairs.
I was denied warranty 3 months into owning a very popular mainstream IEM that has a 1 year standard warranty due to the left side not working anymore.
The great thing about AüR is they have high QC standards. With the exception of one IEM that I know of that had reverse polarity to which they fixed the issue
When it comes to ChiFi warranties can be hit or miss.
I have SR7 on the burn rack right now. I will have initial thoughts this weekend.

I'm really curious about any opinion of G4 used on serial vs space cable. For what concern burn in I listened to serial ootb but then I leave them one week playing burn in tracks without listening. If you have try orange tips that open highs and seal very well or ask penon for them in the next order.

Top to bottom: Bass, Flow, CS819 (since that’s what most people in this thread are likely to have encountered).
Flow looks as thick but is softer, more loosely braided and drapes well. I had mine made without ear guides and never had trouble with it. Never used the chin slider either. Bass is stiffer and will pull the iems out of my ears if I don’t use the slider.

+1. I would much rather have high QC standards than a long warranty period that may or may not be honoured. Even if a product is under warranty, returning it usually entails a long wait, possible communication issues and all the uncertainty involved in having it sent to China and back, not to mention shipping and other costs.
Not me, but why not get it new while the AE sale is still on? It may not be discounted outright by Penon themselves, but Ali probably has coupons or discounts you could use, depending on your location and account.

Judging from your photo it does look pretty thick for just 2 wires. The stiffness and having to use the chin slider are also of concern, maybe it will soften up with use?
Interesting observation by Electech, never would have thought the prolonged use of slider could cause breakage to the wires.
I’ve been lurking, waiting to pull trigger on 10ae until I noticed the graph was really similar to my Fh7s. I loved tracking acoustic bass with fan 2 and that experience has me looking at 10ae hard. Pretty interesting how similar fh7s and 10ae graph - vs tech and construction my curiosity kind of plateaued
