The PENON official thread

Whatever Penon decides just, please, no switches. Or, if there must be, hold frequency adjustments to smaller increments. Switches on Legend always missed the mark for me.
What is fascinating is qdc came out with a few of their regular “switched” models with no switching at all, only they were available just for the Japanese market.

Agree. To me switches just add to the noise floor.

Somehow the BA bass when done right offers a window inside full of detail and character. Most of the time it’s faster than DD bass and holds a style of unification which becomes special with the rest of its BA brothers on-board.

Yes, this was my position for a long time as well. I steered clear of hybrids for years because coherence issues were always a dealbreaker.

But DDs offer more texture and detail these days, while remaining difficult to beat for visceral impact and slam, and even the most convincing BA bass implementations still struggle a bit here.

And I have to say that Penon have been quite persuasive in getting their DDs to work well with Sonion BAs.

No switches for me too. Even when done well, I tend to just settle on one tuning and seldom if ever change it after that.

Hey guys, check out my review of ISN Audio H2 below. It is a wonderful cable with premium swappable connectors for under $100!

I had a lot of time to just sit down and enjoy music with Serial this weekend. Had 50/50% headtime together with the Verite.

What the Serial does perfect is making music enjoyable, every genre you throw at it sounds musical and fun. More often than not I start to tap my feet or move my body to the music.

I almost want another pair for work, but I can not justify a 300$ set staying in the car😆

Fan 2 ordered, i'm so curious to test it
i've some cable to test with Fan 2: Hansound Nyx, EA Ares , Cema PS and Dunu Viridian, looks like Hansound Nyx would match with FAN2 :)
Maybe i'll plug Plussound Trihybrid too :)

ISN S2 gets my vote for good matching cable for the Fan2 and it is cheaper too. Obsidian for folks that take a premium for warmth, naturalness, lush tonal character, fullness and impact for bass with a smoothness to trebles.

If my Nyx and Cema PS or Ares S will not match as i think i'll ask you wich one to buy between S2 and H2
