The Other Metal Thread: No Blastbeat Metal Zone!

I hate it when there is a perfect shirt for a band I like and it's sold out/discontinued because I didn't know the band early enough lol

I found an epic Thin Lizzy backpatch awhile back sold from some Italian shop who specializes in patches and they were discontinued...was soooo bummed.

I have been tempted to pickup one of these though

Sorry to break the rules of the thread, but I think this is EXTREMELY good:

Would this be classified as .......?

Doom?

I get your point, and Dozer is a big reason it's lumped as Stoner/Doom.

Like these guys- Supervoid. Just an amazing from Pittsburgh, and some seriously nice guys...

I wasnt attempting to make a point, rather asking a legit question....I gave it a listen and it had some doom elements to it,but faster than what Ive previously heard.

And im digging that second track by Supervoid!

I DUNU but it doesn't sound like "extreme metal" or anything, probably stoner but not familiar with the genre. I DUNU what to make of the genre in the other videos you sent after but again doesn't seem extreme at all

FYI, death (including melodeath), doom, thrash, speed, pagan, and viking metal are all extreme metal.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extreme_metal

And the main metal thread is about all types of metal, not just extreme metal.

We are all familiar with what happened in the original thread which is why this one was made. The original "rule" of this thread was any genre except black metal or something along those lines, arguing by the base definition of extreme is really defeating the intention of this thread. Just don't want a thread where a certain genre or set of genres are the "standard/dominant" and just want more diversity without any lash back

I think he was being ironic and it was a play on words by saying he was breaking the rules by playing something extremely good

"lacking some sort of melody"

The reason why I am here :smile::thumbsup:

Me too.  I like some extreme stuff , but I like melodic stuff with actual rythym and less beat the most.  Like Tool and Disturbed and Korn.  I love me some Sammy Hagar from all periods with all bands.  I know that is not really on topic, but trying to keep the thread light and happy

Cheers

Nice!  It is nice when we all get along.  This is a bit different.  Kind of sounds a little like what I would call retro metal with some Trivium like vocals.  It is close to extreme but does not quite touch the border line and maintains in the non extreme metal side pretty well for me.
