Blood Lust is their best for sure, but I wouldn't call the rest uninspired. The first one, Vol. 1 is great too, but since they still haven't reissued it you have to find the files elsewhere. Here's a larger picture of psych noir in general: http://fastnbulbous.com/kaleidoscopes-grimoires-psych-noir/

Thanks Scott!  We need to hire you as our PR guy/promoter :D .

Hope you're enjoying the new one.

Dude, I don't know if it's moving my Pinnacle sub into the corner to load it. I don't know if it's swapping out my Emotiva amp for a Crown XLS-1500 to run my speakers. But that is the heaviest music I've heard from you guys yet. almost 'angry', in a Supervoid-kinda way...

I liked Ruby the Hatchet, pretty good stuff...couldnt find anything on The Oath though...do you have a link to check em out,or are they so obscure and already dead that a link doesnt exist?Your description of them being a mix of NWOBHM mixed with Heart and Fleetwood Mac has me intrigued.

yeah it's definitely our darkest album. doesn't have the humor, except for maybe capes and monocles. kids will do that to you

You can find a couple of The Oath tracks at https://theoath.bandcamp.com/ although like most Rise Above artists they do not have much of a presence there. They released the album and then broke up a few months later which is part of why there is hardly anything on them.

I have and enjoy the album although personally I find Lucifer I (The Oath vocalist's next band's release) more enjoyable if you like the vocalist (Johanna Sadonis) and want to purchase something blind.

Uncle Acid? The Oath? Now we're talking.

Now. Doods. Nothing I can write is going to give Stars That Move any justice. This is a band that just last week I listened to and went, "Oh, this sucks." But a few days later, the stuff keeps coming back to me, enticing and inviting me to surrender to their understated, surreal yet heavy embrace.

I might have a new favorite band for this year so far. They make me want to stay home, burn Nag Champa and just tune into them, and only them. This is a Sabbath cover, but I'll be posting more of their stuff in the days to come...
