You could add, that this is your personal opinion only. Lots of people here use exactly this combo and are very happy. I use the WM1A with the Z1r and that is also a great combo imho.
Funny you say that, my 1st impression of the Z1R was exactly the opposite of this, the K10 has much more Overblown impact on its bass IMO, I remember feeling like I was being punched by a pro boxer on those, The Z1R on the other hand are much more dynamic and less intrusive, now what I tried was a store demo so maybe it does need a bit of use for it to settle down, so Good Luck to
It actually does fit pretty well. I also cut out holes in the removable foam so that the ear cups can fit while leaving the head band area padded, and then cut the cut outs again to pad the ear cups at the bottom a bit more as you can see in the picture. Good case for the price and something you should be able to throw into the backpack but also don't expect it to take too much hard punishment because the outside does flex a little.

That is kind of what I was leaning to.. I think bass on k10 is too much and I found that z1r was more than that.. as most of you guys said need to get used to signature and burn in and all will be well.. in head-fi patience is the key
Question to cable enthusiasts.. for Sony wm1z paired with z1r which of the best upgrade cable options..

2) are the Sony kimber cables worthy upgrade
3) I was also looking at Draug 2C pure copper from Norne audio as possible kimber replacement

I bought the Kimber Axios. It certainly is a lovely cable and I'm very pleased with the sound, but it is very expensive and objectively probably not worth the price, but I do love it. Have not tried any other apart from the stock cable
No personal experience with cables for the Z1R - although I have home demoed these headphones twice and own an Axios copper for my Utopia's - however I think the Z1R needs something to"brighten" it a bit. In speaking with Jason the Wireworld Nano Platinum - an all silver cable- came up in our conversations.
Since I am in need of a short cable to go with my WM1Z and Utopia (my Axios copper is 3m) - I am going to try the Wireworld with my Utopia's. I have a Axios copper/silver on demo which I am sending back.

Copper/Silver or Silver/Gold. I demoed 18 different cables for the Sony. Both cables I mentioned opened and clean the Sony mids and treble. Kimber didnt do much but increased the bass a bit and the Kimber were stiff.
There is another R10 for sale in classified - $15,000, same price as the one that sold last week. It looks in immaculate condition, almost like it's never been used. Just thought I'd let you guys know in case you want Z1R's grand daddy. I'll see if I can scrape up some change from the couch
