Well I guess you could call them a sparkle gray actually, now that I look close they look like a metallic gray paint you might see on a custom car. Not really like actual metal.
What are mushroom cups vs straight cups. They are just like the cups on my 225i but silver metal (or whatever it is) instead of black plastic.

If you have the 225i model, you have the beveled/mushroomed edges on the far outside of the ear cup, where as the 225 (non-i's) cups are flat.

Wow the ear zonk G-cush goes really well with the SR325is. Instrument separation is better and the sound is less packed together and more open. Bass has more width to it as well. I'm loving the detail, no headphone can ever beat the SR325is in this pricepoint for detail/musicality/sound quality. I think the SR325is are equal to the HIFIMAN HE-500's in terms of imaging but has a more upfront/musical sound to it. Badabababa I'm lovin' it

+1 to that man. EZ G's are great on my Chromies, the changes they make are definitely for the better. Not to mention a serious comfort upgrade.

Yeah, your next logical upgrade would be the RS1....I agree the 325i is a fantastic headphone, I loved mine when I had them

All this talk bout the G's made me put mine on as well (haven't used them for a long time) and you're right they really sounds and feel great with the G's!

The Grado SR325is (w/G-cush)  is probably the most musical pair of headphones I've ever owned, defeating the Ultrasone Edition 8's and rivaling the HD800's in terms of musicality (not taking classical music into account). The sound is so engaging and the instruments are so lively. And there is so much space between instruments. Not much more I can ask for at $295; it's worth every penny. Listening to Trumpets of Jericho & Gates of Urizen by Bruce Dickinson and I am f%$#ing loving these headphones!!! The double bass and electric guitarzz!!!

In my decade of GAS and upgraditis, the one pair of headphones I have ALWAYS kept have been the sr325/sr325is. I like them even more than RS1is personally.
