A/B vs the u4s shows more differences that i expected.
The u12t are on an entirely different level. Separation, layering, mid bass precision, smoothness and naturalness of vocals, imaging. The u4s wins in subbas punch but only with modules 15 and 20, at least to my ears. But the u12t don't lack in this department either.
Keeping the u12t definitely, an end game product. Having the Monarch Mk2 alongside, seriously considering leaving the portable journey with these two beauties.
Amazing experience.

The flat Letshuor cable I saved worked well for the U12T. But an IEM this wonderful deserves its own pretty cable. Decided to go with the Null Audio Lune MKVII. And upon request, they did a blue finish on the metal instead of rose gold. Now the combination feels as good as it looks and as good as it sounds

I love the u12t but i took out of the box the Monarch mk2 and these monsters just sound more realistic, more powerful. Its just a pure realistic energy where the u12t are warmer and more pleasing. The Monarchs sound like i want to turn down the volume because i feel like my neighbors will start complaining. They honestly make a real impression that im listening to my music through a big speakers and its too loud in my flat.

Hey, glad that you are finally able to add u12t in your collection. Such a well-rounded TOTL IEM with great comfort and tactile and spacious sound presentation.

Anyhow, maybe your IEM time is up. It’s time to investigate DAP and amp :dt880smile:

Edit: surprised that you have such a good experience with Monarch Mk II. To me, it’s simply a decently tuned IEM with high-end detail retrieval. Not extraordinarily 3D, incisive, or dynamic.

Thanx, i love them!
Well, to my ears, the Monarch Mk2 sounds more realistic in timbre and presentation. The u12t are more pleasant and warmer but when A/B, the MMk2 sounds like I'm hearing live music playing, it's timbre is insanely convincing. I like the u12t's more laid back and bassy presentation more when i want to chill or to analyse small nuances in layering, they have crazy layering and indeed one of the best allrounders out there.
But if i wanna get slapped in my face by a life-like sounds, the Monarchs are the best ive heard on the market.

any recomendations for eartips for u4s?
I'm not sure if the U4s has the same long nozzle as the U12T. If it does, I recommend the Azla Sedna Light eartips. They are long, so that they can slide all the way down to the base and still have a nice distance at the tip (check my image a few posts above). Other tips I tried were shorter so you have to keep readjusting after every use because they slide down.
