Thanks guys. Yeah, I also thought that the nozzle sticking out like that might not be great for protecting wax...I've read SpinFits make them a little bright. What tips would be good that don't change the sound? They feel fine once they're in my ears, but inserting them is when it hurts a bit, but maybe I would need to get used to it.
Your current setup is the perfect one to avoid any sound influence from tip material, simply because the sound doesn't hit the side of the tips at all and gets injected straight into your ears like with a CIEM. So you already have the sonic benefits you're looking for!

So perhaps it's best to work on your insertion method first to see if you can get away with it? Have you tried (not sure how to describe this best) pulling up your left ear with the right hand/arm over your head while inserting the left IEM? This way you open your ear canal much further and that may avoid the pain you're describing.

There should be a wax picker in the box to keep things tidy.

@64Audio , or fellow U12t users. I just got some U12t’s and noticed something a bit strange…

I have the medium silicone tips on them…is it supposed to look like that? The metal nozzle sticks right through the top.
This is a great question. We touch on it in some of the unboxing series videos. These wide silicone tips are designed to have zero influence on the sound signature of the IEM. These are the tips that our IEMs are designed and tested with because they do not extend the nozzle in any way, they're meant to be a sort of gasket to seal the ear canal off. The true fidelity foam tips do extend the nozzle a bit, creating a small tube essentially, but the exceptionally soft material helps to combat any sort of horn effect. The spin-fit tips we started including are a more traditional fitting silicone tip, potentially more comfortable for some, it will brighten the sound a bit depending on the size of the tip.

to answer your question about wax when using the wide nozzle silicone tips, you will most likely not have any major issues with wax when using the UIEMs, that is much more of a CIEM issue. The cleaning tool should be enough to keep the IEMs clean as well as wiping them down after use with some alcohol wipes.

Thanks! Usually I pull my ear down and that is the easiest way to get IEMs in. In the past I used ER4XR and Blessing 2’s which go in a bit deep, am I trying to put the U12t’s in too deep? I’ll nestle it in my ear, pull the ear down and then push until it’s in and that’s when it starts to hurt a bit.

I think too deep doesn't really exist. Best is to stuff it right inside your brain! 😜 But you could try either the smaller ones to make a deep fit possible without them pushing too much against the channel when inserting, or go the exact opposite way by using the larger ones that don't go deep at all but may give an excellent seal further out. So you may be using the exact wrong size in this case even though they're your normal bet.

Thanks. I ended up trying all three and medium felt the best but the pain was coming from feeling like it was the nozzle without a tip going in my ear, almost like a sharp burning feeling.

These aren't very well known, but after spending literal hundreds of dollars on eartips, I use these for everything. They're comfy, stick out a bit past the nozzle and don't change the sound a whole lot.

Then it may be because of how your ear channel is bent and you would need different tips that are either a bit longer or something that makes your current preference not reach the other end of the nozzle. See for instance the red nozzle adapters in the following link. Of note: I have ordered these and can't advice you just yet, but others have suggested these Final tips and may be able to share thoughts on whether the adapters could help you reach your goal.

Awesome! 'Love the Off-White influence. 'Definitely one of the most creative designs I've seen in a while.

Love the design, and Abloh inspired text. People don't utilize the clear faceplate over non-clear shell combo enough. It really highlights the components nicely

Transparent design exposing the components is an acquired taste, I think. At least it is for me, I did not like it at all when I first got into IEMs, I felt it looked rather messy. I am more used to it now, also because the Traillii shell is transparent as well. I also chose a transparent shell for my reshelled N8.
