So I just got and have been listening to the U12t... I can see why people say they are about as technically flawless as you can get. Speed, clarity, accuracy etc. not the most exciting I have heard but I can’t deny the technical ability and how well these adapt to nearly every genre. Definite keeper for now.
Can you compare the NIO to Legend X a bit ? :)

Glad you're enjoying them...the more I listen to them, the more I appreciate them.

That being said... Nio is just as clear, mids are about the same with a hint of more warmth and the bass is that nice DD experience. I’ll wait until I can A/B them directly but my first impression was, “oh damn, these are a more neutral Nio with less bass.”

@twister6 how's the Nio review coming along? 😉

I just bumped Nio higher, to be 7th or 8th in a review queue :D Between crazy working hours in the last 3+ months, my kids on-line schooling (thank God school is over for the summer!), and non-stop incoming boxes with review samples, I'll be lucky to catch up with everything by Xmas (of this year, of course!). That is why whenever I get a free minute in the evening to do review work, I try to focus on sharing my impressions in various threads and on FB in various groups. Plus, some days it takes me close to an hour just to answer all the PMs and Messenger questions.... I know, cry me a river, but many have asked me the same (about other products as well), and I just want you guys to know that I'm trying my best under circumstances :)

Yeah I know the drill, and thank you for your candour. I think I just wet my pants in excitement reading @CL14715's comments above 😂

Just to clarify, I assume you're talking about the U12t's here, and not the LX?
I'm very curious to listen to them both (u12 and Nio)...wondering if I will decide to keep both or sell one of them. My guess is that I'll want to keep them both, but we shall see..
I'm assuming the LX is sufficiently different to merit keeping in the collection...

Correct. The Nio favor the U12T in Treble pretty much exactly. The mids on the Nio are just as forward but a bit warmer. The bass on the Nio is heavier but great quality and not overdone in my
Opinion. I can’t say for sure that the Nio are just a U12T with DD bass because I don’t have them to A/B until 64 Audio sends my replacement Nio.

yes the LX aren’t going anywhere haha, those things are just oozing with amazing bass and great other technicalities. I’ll probably never get rid of them. I’m sure the people that thought the LX was a tad too much would love the Nio cause it’s Missing that few dB in the low end many complained about with LX. Additionally it’s not missing anything else and has clearer mids. Definitively though the headspace created by the LX is more holographic and larger than Nio.

No no no that's not good, I didn't read that. I don't need a Nio lalalalalaa.

My Cardas Clear just arrived and seems like a good pairing with the u12t so far.

Just look away now... Cause it's the truth.U12t is interesting, it lacks the bit of warmth the Solaris 2020 has but it has more sub bass as an all BA config. Pretty slick.

Have a friend who has Nio pre-ordered so I'm hoping it arrives by the time phase 3 happens in our province and we can actually meet up. My wallet is heaving a sigh of relief at hearing that it avoided another expensive demo.

Beyond the Blessing 2 and Z1R, hybrids have always turned me away because of coherency issues. I can't speak for the Solaris since I've never had a chance to try it out.

As for the u12t, I spend 3 years dreaming about owning one before fate conspired to put one in my hands. And for me personally, it's my endgame.
