I've also found the A12t the most sensible option, especially since it's my to-go and on-the-go IEM. The 18t is more analytical and precise, but source dependant and occasionally too revealing. If classical or jazz were my main stay, I'd pair it up with a competent DAC and have field day...
As for the Fourte, I find it's signature unnatural and even awkward; and I'd pony up so much money for a universals. The SQ is just not thete when one is on the move.
+1 on the A12t as well. I had the budget for the A18t and it was my original intention to purchase it. Fortunately, I was able to have a 5-6 hour listening sessions comparing the U12t and U18t. I'm not too good at getting really precise in terms of descriptions, but the U18t was like I was in a lab or studio where all my monitoring and devices are all dialed in 100% and I'm getting an analytical/clinical playback (in the best way possible). U12t was like I was sitting on a sofa and a band is playing right in front of me. Both were ah-may-zing, but U12t spoke to me more.
I ended up getting the A12t and a Mojo instead of the A18t (64's 15% discount offer for getting both was certainly enticing). I've been wearing the A12ts 6-10 hours a day (mainly because of work/commute). At home, for the first time since like college, I'm actually sitting and JUST listening to music without doing anything else. Being a musician/audio engineer, the past few months have been a beautiful reawakening of my love for certain bands, productions, music in general.
This is coming from a longtime fan of Etymotic ER4, Sennheiser HD600, Audeze LCD-XC, and more recently (before A12t) Campfire Andromeda and Vega.
I gotta say, the A12t is my first CIEM and 64 Audio did an amazing job with the fit on the first try. They literally vanish after a few minutes. I've fallen asleep with them on and woke up with no radial pressure or pain at all.
