I've been contemplating buying the VSD3S. Is the general consensus that the VSD3/VSD3S removable cables are troublesome? Should I wait for LMUE to get the fixed cable version in stock?

FWIW I haven't had any issues with the cable and I have been pretty rough with them and ditched the earhook after the first week. With that said, it may be prudent to see what VSonic offers cable durability wise with their new batch. Might as well wait another week or two. But the VSD3 are no slouch imo the cables seem decent to me.

Same here, zero problems with the cable connections and "test" them fairly. I never used the earhooks, just got them tigher with the chin slider. Although, they could use a strain relief of some kind.

EDIT: I forgot to say that mine came from Lendmeurears about a month ago.

it's not clear if it's the cables or connectors or both. silver upgrade cable penon sent me for my vsd3 did not resolved the problem. now it seems they're attaching cables permanently to earpieces. as i understood from my gr02 experience, vsonic models are quite similar with each other. so there's no need to insist on vsd3/s imho. you can also try brainwavz r1 if you do not listen on high volumes or go for koss kdx100 if you care more for bass. they're all similar earphones with similar price tags.

I think if u can boost he mids on vc-02 by 1-1.5 db the clarity is unrivalled at the price point.Plus the bass is very very good.
U r comment is totally correct,,,all vsonic models resemble one another to a great degree.

I assume it's the connectors, and PenonAudio is selling the new VSD3S with fixed cables.

Don't wast your time and money, the sound quality ain't worth it, i had a defect also, and the right earphone didnt work one day after i got it , then i dissconected the right earphone to check if it's the cable or something else, then i forgot to reconnect it to the cable , put it in my pocket and somehow lost one earpiece.
is it Vsonic's fault that i lost it? no.
but its their fault that they had a known defect with alot of earphones with the same problem.
Anyways, im not buying anything from Vsonic again.

Where were all these negative reviews when I was researching the iems? Seems like they're just now surfacing.

Brought my set for a short cycle and they are holding up fine (phew).
