The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

Why would you ?
Hd6xx are legendary headphones. You know what you gonna get. There are 1000 and 1000 reviews.

You don't have any review of the HD 560s. Just two guys on the youtube who listened for them like an hour.

But yeas, it would be good if you could have both and see which you like more.

I was thinking hd58x or hd6xx. I went with hd58x but I always wonder what does hd6xx sound like.

I'll buy hd6xx from you if you are in Europe :)

Keep the 6xx. Listen to both. Hear the difference as it is for you, for your ears. Otherwise you will always wonder. You can always sell a mint pair of headphones for around 70-80% of the purchase price.
Very wise advice.

The treble veiled in the 660S?
Yeah the term 'veiled' was not the most fitting one.
Owned 598, treble felt soft and veiled to me. Auditioned 660S several times and thought the treble wasn't significantly different. But I could be wrong.
660S may be good for long term listening but I wanted a bit more 'fun', so I went for Hifiman Sundara instead. I like its sound, but is not as comfortable as 598 or 660S.

I have a pair of HD 6XX on the way, but I'm considering just refusing the package and getting the HD 560S instead.
What would you guys choose in that situation ?
The HD 6xx is basically a standard in the headphone world. HD 560s has not enough reviews to see how it truly matches up. Not saying the HD 560s will be bad, I love my HD 595, older sibling to the HD 560s, as it got me into this hobby.

Sometimes I don't want to say this too loudly, because it's nice to be part of an elite club hiding in plain sight. But sometimes I feel like spreading the love and letting the world know. So I will let you in on a secret. The HD-650 is not the true standard. The one headphone to rule them all is...

What do you think of the ADL Furutech cable for the 600/650/660S (iHP-35S)? It comes in a much nicer 1.3m length. I have one and I prefer it overall to the stock cable and to other more expensive after-market cables.

@takeitblue 3m is a problem for us non-DAP users. Who needs 3m at a desk? 1.3 or 1.5m is ideal.

Not everyone listens at a desk. My recliner is on the other side of the room from my audio rack where my headphone amps resides, so I really appreciate it when companies include a 3m cable.

I'd keep the 6xx. You know what you are going to get. Also saw this earlier today on DROP - supposed to make the 6xx sound even better - address the bass issues etc. ZEN CAN Signature. Have fun and lets us know if you do get both both pairs. Would love to see what you think.
