The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

Honestly I've enjoyed the time I've spent with them so far, not a full review but impressions and all in all I pretty happy with what they've achieved with this product

I spent a little time listening on the iFi iDSD Neo as well as in my primary system on my Bricasti M3H for my full review I'll have a listen on some more modest downstream components but suffice to say they scale decently well

Good point about this sort of tuning being promoted.
Here's to more like this in the future.

Some have said it's more of a studio tuning than audiophile one...well personally I like the accurate approach.

Honestly studio and Audiophile shouldn't differ much imo

"audiophile" turnings are what "musical"? Which a lot of times detracts from the music, a lover of music will appreciate the studio tuning for it's well fidelity I mean what's Hi Fidelity if were making things less accurate

An honestly it's still got that touch of Sennheiser warmth so it's not as much of a studio tune as my the JBL LSR305p MKii's I have... which will get even drier once I treat the room :D for that tru studio sound

I want to attach a 3.5 mm bluetooth receiver to the HD 560s headphones. But it appears that the 2.5mm jack type is unique to Sennehiser. I need an adapter from 3.5 mm to 2.5mm that will specifically be able to be inputted into the headphones.

We did try to explain more clearly up front that the HD 560S features a more linear, analytical approach suited for evaluating music, so we're glad you like the "accurate approach." With the HD 599 being more "fun" and the HD 560S being more "accurate," among other differences in our lineup, we endeavor to make an option that can appeal to anyone!

The 2.5mm jack on the headphone is seen on other headphones and across our HD 500 series headphones (apart from the HD 58X jubilee and old models like the HD 580). Our cables feature a twist-to-lock mechanism so that the cable can be removed when desired, but stays firmly attached when desired. The jack is also recessed inside the earcup for durability and aesthetics. We cannot comment on third party accessories, but cables made for the HD 598 or HD 599, for example, will work with the HD 560S.

I want to be able to make my wired hd560 s headphone wireless. They have a special lock and twist jack to plug into the headphones. Will these FiiO items connect with the sennheiser headphones

Another option to go wireless could be to get a dap with Bluetooth receiver function, like for example the Sony NWA-55L. A great little dap. I use mine with the Sennheiser HD599, no problem. I do not know though how well it would drive the HD560s with higher impedance.

The HD 560S has a moderate 120 Ω impedance, which provides some damping benefits and a more consistent sound across devices. Meanwhile, the 110 dB (1 kHz / 1 Vrms) sensitivity helps it achieve good volume output from portable sources.

You need to use the cable.
It is not some kind like a plug in dongle like the BlueMini in the Hifiman Deva.

I just received a pair of HD 560S, but I’ve had an HD 599 and PC37X for years with similar construction, and I’m having some trouble imagining the “quiet, dull sound” which you’re describing as your bigger problem.

If you flex the plastic, it may creak. I can ask if some sort of lubricant might help reduce rubbing and friction sounds, but you don’t want to experiment with potentially shorting out any electronics.

Normally, the plastics will polish smooth over time and use, and the snug fit should prevent the headphone from flexing and moving around while you’re wearing it. You might want to check that what you’re hearing isn’t microphonics from the cable rubbing against your shirt; not usually a problem with smooth rubber cables like the stock one, but cloth wrapped cords (especially if it’s coarse cloth) greatly amplified this.

Sorry for the late reply. I know the description of the sound I am hearing is terrible, but I believe it is caused by the friction caused when moving the cups with the cup swivel. I can hear it mostly when moving my head up and down.
I know it's not the cable, because I noticed that sound too and know how that sounds, and that's not a problem because the sound can easily be prevented. The sound I was talking about is a bit lower frequency.
But thanks for the tips. If it doesn't go away I can always make use of my warranty on these.
