I have been waiting to be first in line; however, my first priority might need to be upgrading speakers before I can realize any improvements a $25k quartet would make to my system. I really want a pair Wilsons.

Wilsons are great speakers, at that price range there are a few more as well, like Rockports. The speakers will make the biggest difference for sure.

Normally, I would say room acoustic matters a lot more than speakers. That said, if you are using Krell speakers per your profile, I have to admit speaker technology has improved by a lot since Krell last made speakers I think. So I would also concur with everyone else that a speaker upgrade would probably give you the most bang for the buck.

I really think the market should calm down a little with their price raises. Especially some brands.

Hugo M Scaler price is the same now as when it was launched in 2018, at least in the UK.

Rob does not make the prices. And was certainly not judging his effort, not even close. You can choose to make the price more reasonable and sell more, or keep it niche and sell a few. It is a choice. You were not getting my point.

The mscaler is already expensive for most people. If you make it even more expensive it will be unreachable for most people. And I think that’s a shame

And it is something you have to add to a dac, seperate it is useless, so take that in the mix, how high are we now? 35k? 40? If a dave 2 or a tt3 comes out?
I hope not… but at that point we are talking about car prices.

I have to agree with you, the equipment is already very expensive. If the prices go to dCS levels it will be hard for others to enjoy.

And 25K will only be the start of it. If the MScaler is anything to go by, there‘ll be 5K woo-woo cables, 10K woo-woo power supplies for the power supplìes, ferrite case work. Hawaii looks a good bet. Go down in style. I’ll stand bail for you.

Are any of the price speculations routed in any sort of factual sources? I ask because I've seen a stretch between 10k - 25k, which is a huge difference. Probably best to stop speculating if not? Also, if it's not just speculation that's ok too and I simply won't be in the market as a longtime chord customer on that sort of top end lol.

Well, if you listen to Rob, you know that it's more expensive than the DAVE. That gets you to start at $15k plus, I wager it'll be $20k with max price of $25k, watch me be right .

Rank speculation, and we've been going around in circles about pricing in this thread for a couple years at this point, I think. Pricing an accessory for a DAC several times more than the DAC it accessorizes (is that a word?) doesn't seem like a recipe for big sales, but that too is just rank speculation. Can only wait and cross our fingers that we won't be priced out!

So no, there hasn't . But I get it, it's all fair game when it comes to new product build up and speculation .

Although I won't be in the immediate target audience, I'll be paying attention. I'm usually not very optimistic when it comes to price expectations, but I am hoping that it will come in somewhere around $10-$12k, but we shall see.
