We talk about how headphones sound all the time, and I thought it would be interesting for those of us who are also very visual to talk about looks. Which headphones in your opinion are the most visually beautiful? I was thinking of maybe doing a poll, but then it would have to include way too many choices, so decided not to. We could maybe tally people's posts later and rank the top 5.

IMO, AKG's headphones are all beautifully designed, with the 701 taking the cake for the most beautiful:

Grado would probably be second place, with the RS2 being the best from the company:

Denon would probably be third, with the AHD501K looking the most unique and beautiful:

As you can see, I tend to prefer designs that are classy, elegant, and modern at the same time, as opposed to super futuristic, loud, garish, flashy...etc.

I really like the look of the Stax o2 for some reason.

I like the minimalist look of the HD238, one of the reasons why I bought one. Sleek black frame with silver metal accents, complemented by black metal grilles and the Sennheiser logo.

beautiful to see on photo or put on someone's head?

Because Grados look cool on photo standing alone, but on someone's head look just like some medieval torture tool.

The most beautiful are the "just-round" Beyer DT880, Beyer T1 and Sennhs HD600 and 650. IMHO

I was going to say K701's, but you already covered it.

I like the white color which looks very clean and sleek, almost like they dropped from heaven.

I'm on the futuristic black-chrome thing, so I give the Pioneer HDJ-1000 the first rank

Closely followed by the Denon HP700

Grados remind me of German tank commanders, hence the nickname "Tiger" amongst other Head-Fi'ers.

I also fancy the tough and utilitarian look of the Shure SRH series, especially the 840:
