Interested to hear your take on them CC51s..Imo I think the MP8320 have a better sound. Thats just my opinion but you might like them more than I did.

Wow. That would be awesome. I was a liitle concerned about the build quality of the cc51 but thought at forty bucks what the heck. If these little guys sound better than that at 9.23 shipped than I'll be in cheapskate heaven, err I mean value priced heaven.

I did not go through all hundred pages of posts, did we find an ear tip solution for the 8320s?

Hey silverbear. I recently got the meelec M11 extra long single flange tips for my GR07. They didn't fit the nozzle so I tried them on the 8320...perfect.

Thanks for the quick replies guys, I'll go ahead and give the CKM50s a shot and tell you what I think. Since my old phones are gone, I can't do an AB comparison, but my friend at work has some Sennheiser HD280s I can compare with. (Which IMO are not as warm and lush as my old m50s)

I mentioned I love my old ATH m50s, and you recommended the CKM50. Who would you recommend the CKM77 to, Dsnuts?

The CKM50s are for guys that like the sounds from the M50s.
The CKM77s are for guys that love the sounds form these    A900X. The sound signature on the CKM77s are neutral to brighter sounding with an astonishing amount of detail and clarity. I have nothing that is cleaner sounding or as detailed. More of an analytical sound but I love how they sound. Happen to be my favorite earphones actually. The CKM50 is more musical earphones and a blast to listen to your bassy tunes with. The CKM77s are more for Jazz, classical, rock, vocal music.  I have nothing that does detail better the the CKM77s or the A900X. I have a feeling that will change once I get my hands on a new pair of ASG-1s but until then my CKM77s are tops.

I've never had access to a headphone like that, so I don't really know what I would prefer.

Well it is a higher end sound but kinda like fine wine or fine beer you have to develop a taste for it. I would go for the CKM50s it is a solid buy and more along the sound signature of the M50. Later on when your musical taste change maybe I would look into an iem like a CKM77, GR07, EX600..

Sound preference has much to do with getting a earphone like a CKM77 as well. There is no universal earphone that will appeal to everyone so you have to try narrow down what you prefer in your sounds. The CKM50 is bassy a bit recessed yet very smooth mids with nicely defined highs with a bit if a sparkle up top and this would make for easy listening and very nice layered presentation for your music. These Mp8320s are more closer to a neutral sound and a bit mid forward yet solid balance on the sounds..

The UE500 $69VS  Mp8320 $7.11

I brought out my Mp8320s this morning to compare with a much more expensive UE500. Lol! So how does the MP8320 fair against the nicer looking more expensier UE500?

These 2 have a very similar sound qualities balanced more neutral sound. The upper registers of the UEs are indeed better but only by a small margin the mids. MP8320 wins here and bass? While bass is plenty on both sets the bass on the MP8320 wins with a tighter faster punch..So this is how they break down

Highs   UE500>MP8320
Mids    MP8320>UE500
Lows   MP8320>UE500...

Winner! And top dog for better value MEP-933/MP8320!! Lol!! Now this is just based on sound. If build quality and comfort is added then the UE500 would edge out the MP8320.

This is true. Considering the price to sound ratio. I also forgot to add the MP8320 has the better sound stage and cleaner instrument separation. I only wish there was more like the MP8320.
