The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..

I know there hasn't been any pro reviews or anything that would indicate that these are anything special beyond just me saying they are. I suppose you guys will have to trust a fellow headfier and I suppose my name suits me well. I am nuts..I don't recall anyone ever in the history of this site ever proclaiming a cheapo IEM that has this sound level but I am not your average person. I will tell it like it is that is just what I am all about.

I refuse to throw out stupid product and say they are worthy for the sake of a thread or exposure.. These are something special guys ..Unknown among audiophiles why? Because who is gonna try out a $7.11 IEM and take it seriously?.. I did.. I have learned in my own journey that you don't have to spend a stupid amount of money to discover what everyone considers to be great sound.. I am 100% positive if a big named company threw on their logo on these earphones these can easily sell for over $100.. This no named IEM has nothing to do with big name or a big price.. What they offer is a big sound, every single person should have that is a music lover.

I am such a sucker for cheap IEMs with good sound. I think in this case I will hold off until my next Monoprice cable order.

DSnuts,

What was the JVC model you were recommending in the other thread about big bass for under $50?

DSnuts,

The JVC HAFX1X These cost less than $20 online and is widely available. These are a guilty pleasure. I was going to start a thread regarding these but HeatFan12 beat me to it you guys should visit his thread if you guys are interrested. I am glad these are getting some exposure as well..The Bass on these have to be experienced. These have surprising forward mids and highs as well with Monster sized amounts of BASS. Completely worthy of purchase. I have been recommending these to everyone that wants a cheaper big bass IEM. These kick all sorts of booty when it comes to this department.

What is the difference from these to the monoprice? The monoprice 8320 is also a bassy IEM but not as much bass quantity as the HAFX1X but what you get in return is a cleaner smoother sound with better detail and imaging. The bass is very ample in the 8320s it is just that the HAFX1X has copious amounts. The JVC  Extreme explosive headphone equivalent I can't recommend but these earphones are another story. If you want to just get lost in some eyeball shaking bass these fit the bill but technically the 8320 is more of a proper sounding IEM.

Ranked is stirring up buzz for another <$10 IEM: FocalPrice XKDUN CK-700. A challenger appears!

Gonna have to try some to compare.

If these do take off, maybe some of us Stateside friends could do a mass buy and then send 30 of them to the EU for $30 bucks.

Oh my lord god. My Westone 4 just came in and they sound sooooo goooood! I'm so happy! And they're so comfy! Westone just hit the nail on the head with this one. Those Monoproce are gonna have some stiff competition!!

I'm on board.  Ordered 2 of them.  I started using the iPhone 4s and been looking for something easier to drive than my high impedance RE-262s.   When was the last time I was excited about a $7 IEM?  Great thread, will post opinion after they arrive sometime next week.

Sigh...fad of the morning...but I'm in...

If these turn out to be everything you say they are then I will likely be taking on your recommendation of the WS55i, despite my irrationally proportioned need for a single-cable headphone

I say get both.. Heck at this price why not.. Consider it a gift from the headphone gods.! Hahaha

Well I can say the one part of these monoprice that will definitely loose is the comfort level. The driver is huge and so they take a bit of work to figure out exactly how they fit correct in your ear and the fact that you have to find a correct tip for them. I suppose they had to cut corners somewhere... I suspect the monoprice will not match up to the level of your Westone 4. They better not hahaha. That would be something. I am listening to some Sade this morning on my monoprice.. Female vocals, bassy Jazz. Damn. I tried some eQ settings. These eq very well. More bass more treble that sultry voice. Good way to start the day.

Ordered one of these today with some A/V cables... I figured I'd gone too long without HDMI capability out of my Mac and for $7.11 these will be my entry into IEMs (seeing as it was taking too long to save up for customs as my first IEMs).  With Monoprice prices, it'll be like buying the AV cables elsewhere and getting free earphones for my troubles.

Almost pulled the trigger on some Meelec last week.  I should be glad I could try these out for so cheap; if I find better sooner or later, I won't be the slightest bit upset.

Still waiting on others' impressions though.

Interested in hearing Sade through these, since you mentioned it.  I have a T20v2, with its rich mids, and there's probably no better way to hear Sade... but if I have a decent mobile solution I'll be pretty a happy fellow.

I was just reading some reviews of another IEM I have the SONY Ex41B This review caught my attention

Why? Because these are the best earbud-type headphones I've used to date.

The bass is strong, and the high and mid-ranges sound terrific. I had previously owned the Sony MDR-XB40EX (also an Extra Bass edition), which were very good.

These are even better, and worth the upgrade.

What this guy haven't heard is the monoprice 8320.. The bass is just as strong I think there is a bit more mid bass hump on the Sonys. But These EX41Bs. Don't touch the clarity, detail and balance of the 8320s.  I should know I own both.. All you guys that are getting these. You guys are essentially getting a more refined EX41B.

Can't you send a USPS int'l flat rate box for 10-15 bucks?  So if someone in the US wants to order them and ship them out people in other countries could get them significantly cheaper.

Any I just ordered 2 pairs ($15.90 shipped) and while I'm not as experienced as most of you are, I'll post my impressions when I get them.
