Unfortunately I am experiencing some issues with my brand new Go Link Max. I can't get it to work with either my iPhone 12 or my Nintendo Switch. I mostly bought it for use with my Switch, since there was a post earlier in this thread that said that it should support console gaming, so this is a disappointment :(
Yes, it does indeed!

Cheers!!
I also saw a review for the regular Go Link mention it working with the Switch.

When I connect it to my Switch, the LED turns green but all audio plays from the system's built-in speakers. Can someone from iFi please confirm whether this is supposed to have compatibility with the Switch?

With my iPhone, the Go Link Max LED turns green but no audio plays at all from either the phone or the headphones, even though the app (Apple Music) shows music playing.

It did work with my MacBook after I manually selected it from Audio MIDI Setup. And it sounds/works great there now! But no luck with anything else.

Still no luck with my Switch, but I have it working with my iPhone now. There is some kind of quirk with the volume adjustment – lowering the volume with the physical volume buttons seems to lower the left channel more than the right. I don't experience this when touching and dragging the volume bar.

Bummed that it doesn't seem to support the Switch, unless that's something a firmware update will fix.

I will check on this for you regarding the switch. I thought it did, but perhaps there's some setting. I do not have one here anymore to test this for you.

I would also drop a note with your questions to our support folks who can help.

Just a thought but I remember that USB audio only worked on the switch in the dock, if possible can you check on this?

I could be wrong and will try to get a switch over the weekend.

Cheers!!

I got the Max today from my wife 👍

It suffers from fixed reduced output volume and channel imbalance. Big disappointment 😡

Than I read about the firmware update, which addresses (resolves) both issues. Very happy😀

Than I read that the firmware update is available Windows users only. Mega big disappointment 😡 😡

I am not buying a Windows notebook, just to update the firmware of my Max 😤

Seriously iFi Audio ?

Until iFi Audio get their act together, for me the Go Link Max is a dud.
Highly not recommended.

One thought comes to mind: what is the value of all of the fantastic reviews that have been cited here and on FB? Did the reviewers have different "special" non-issue units, did they get firmware update earlier than the rest of us or is there an agreement with reviewers that all iFi Audio products are fantastic and should be described as such?

Noted!

As a MAC user, I have already asked the question and will certainly report back any information I get.

Cheers!!

I received mine yesterday, but it doesn't appear to have either issue. I have been using it between a MacBook Air and a pair of Denon D7200 (on the 4.4mm output) so far, and it seems great.

I'll have the same issue as you when I do go to update the firmware though, because I don't have a Windows PC to hand either!

I hope that they are able to sort this out for you.

In normal circumstances I would return it, but since it is a gift, I will put it away and wait for iFi to offer firmware update to Mac users.
In the meantime, I will look around to see what Fiio have to offer.

We appreciate your patience, for sure!

If I may ask on the iPhone volume issue my I ask your specific use case? Streaming service or app use?

I ask because a friend of mine was using USBAPPro and he did not realize his volume level in that app (Hardware Volume) was down because of hearing protection.
Make sure when using the MAX all volume levels are raised after connecting (Be Careful) in the app as well as device volume.

Cheers!!

Same exact behavior when docked. The LED turns green but all audio comes out of the speakers.

From what I can gather (from these posts), even if a DAC supports UAC1, it must default to 16-bit mode in order for the Switch to recognize it. So it's possible that the Go Link Max will work on a PS5.

Thanks for investigating the issue. It would be awesome if this is something that can be addressed in a firmware update. Like I said, I've seen reviews saying that the regular Go Link and even the Go Bar work. The Go Blu will work over Bluetooth, of course, but apparently not when wired.

Standard situation: I connected the Go Max to my iPhone 16 Pro and was surprised that the first 50% of the volume scale was quiet beyond usable (Foobar and Tidal).
I had to go all the way up to 80-90% of the scale to make Final Audio E4000 on balanced cable reasonably (but safe) loud.

Go Link on SE cable (30% of power) is comparable. Shouldn't be IMO.
