I'm still really unsure about these headphones. I'd probably get them with the WS55 pads but not sure about the fit etc.

Only headphones / ear pads that have fit my ears properly so far are the DT770 Pro earpads.

HM5 pads would be a better fit for you then, WS55 pads are much smaller

The WS55 pads are going to be on ear for most people. Your ears has to be incredibly small to fit inside the WS55 pads comfortably.

Only thing that's putting me off is that they have to be fitted over the stock pads with rubber rings to get them to fit properly. I'd imagine if your ears went deep enough, you'd be able to feel the stock pads?

This is the downside to having big ears; my ears are quite long (Like 4-5 inches long)

Don't worry about it, you won't touch the stock ones with your ears.

When I use the HM5s and the rings I can feel the stock pads underneath. Its definitely not uncomfortable, but you can feel them. And it sounds like your ears are bigger than mine.

I am thinking about trying some of these...

Just wondering if someone can tell me that has modded the pads on these to be over ear...

Is the bass still good? And also is the soundstage good? Can you compare them to expensive headphones?

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to buy the S500s then. Shame since everything else about them sounded really positive but I suppose they are portable on-ears at the end of the day.
