I just ordered 2 pairs of the S500 today from amazon.com. They were $42.50 plus $5.00 shipping for both pair from a Japan seller "Vision Store". Has anyone delt with this store, and are they legit?
Ok so I cancelled this order because I JUST discovered the S400 and found it for $25 on amazon.com. Ordered 4 pairs...3 as gifts for my daughters and one for me and my wife. I'll check them out but my go to pair are ws55.
I haven't heard the S400, but I traded my WS55 away after getting the S500. Everybody's ears are different though.
My Hifimediy finally arrived.
Lol, 95 dollar setup completely spanks my Dt 770's + audio engine d1 that cost me 400. That's saying it right there folks.
Ah... I am at peace
I really think the E09K-E17 combo is an underrated buget AMP/DAC combo. And it's flexible as hell too! Pairs nicely with the HA s500's and gives you SW EQ and enough power to blow your head off!

I've heard both and I would easily pay double the money for the s500 (I have the S500 in my regular rotation)
I don't like either of them better than one another, but I'm leaning towards the S400s. The S500s have fantastic lows and highs, but they are very lacking in the mids department. The S400s have pretty good mids while still retaining all the micro-details and having satisifying enough bass.

I love my bass lol
