I think I'm gonna go for it, only thing that concerns me is wait time, I don't want to be without my jh16 for 2 months..

I should prob just get Roxanne and call it a day, but I'm pretty positive I will do the upgrade. I'm fine with the mids, but would like a little bit more air and sparkle in the treble

Really enjoying mine (re-shelled by InEarz).
Everything they say about them is true, including the fact that they are super sensitive. The M8 and my desktop set-up (Sony HAP-S1) both have a slight background hum. But my ears seem to get used to it fairly quick, after a couple of songs I can't notice it anymore. While the RSA Shadow is a perfect fit.

Has anyone tried the Fiio cables? Slightly microphonic if you move around too much, but for the money they are a steal.

Don't know if I should post this under UM or JH... Anyway, just got my first CIEM back yesterday. It's a pair of reshelled JH16 Freqphase. Sent them out for reshell about 4 and half weeks ago. Got them back yesterday. They look excellent, fit great if I put them in properly (even fell asleep last night while watching video w/ them in ears, woke up a couple of hours later, no funny feeling in ears). Seals don't break even I move my jaw around, but I like them the best when I keep my mouth a bit open (just like when I made the impression with a biting block in mouth).

Sound wise I couldn't tell how they sounded when they were still in JH16's shells (bought them second hand for reshell), but so far I'm pretty happy with the UM shells when matched w/ the AK120, even better with the HM901 but this one isn't for on the go. Will mod my Lune MKIII cable (with Shure connectors) to fit these later and see if there is any improvement.

Here you go, excellent reshell job from UM:

Pretty certain on the JH16's at this point. Well 90%... 10% still says roxxannes...

I previously had UM Mages, however they seem to really lack in the low-mid & low range.  From everything I've read, these should fill that void. I'm just hoping the mids are still there. (Not a treble guy) Mid's 70% Bass 30%. What I enjoy.. hopefully makes sense.

I'm going to listen to my JH16's at work off the laptop. Any recomendations that you've particulary noticed what works really well with JH16's from usb? Looking in the $100-$300 DAC range.

Thanks,
-T

The Geek Out IEM 100 ($289) is terrific with my JH16s (nonFP). My Roxannes take it to a whole new level, though, so the JH16s are serving backup duty now.
