From what I hear 1.9.4 is the first in-house FW that supposedly sounds closer to the SU EX but I am afraid to try 1.9.4 myself as I have SU EX working without any problems for quite some time and I don't want to risk to break it with re-installs.

I would try, but it has been such a long time since I've heard EX. All I know is it is the first stock firmware I am contempt with. By that I mean I'm not seeking out other options.
Still loving my iBasso DX50, haha. I've tried many sources, Pono Player, Cayin N6, even Tralucent's very own DacAmp One and still prefer my Tralucent Ref.1 with the little DX50. Until I find a better source and I mean actually 'hear it' I'm quite settled on this synergy.

Gapless option "is improved" but still isn't fixed...after all those patches... That's disappointing and shameful.
And all related to other track separation problems...also.
I'm listening to FLAC+CUE music.
I always use the latest firmware, in this case the 1.9.4. The sound changes a little bit on other custom firmwares but since i used to the sound of my Fiio E12A, I stick to the latest ibasso fw
=)
I would like to try another DAP that does not have FW issues.
I was reading a thread on the A&K 240 and it has issues. Really at the price they charge?
Anybody knows about a DAP with no FW issues?
