Anyone know if iBasso has in plan to release a new firmware? I want to remove these annoying interruptions of sound that I have when reproducing a new a track. I don't want to downgrade to other firmware since I'm using it also as DAC

It's not ideal but i use Rockbox for general music playback when out of the house.

And at home i use the stock OS for DAC functionality for PC playback.

Other then that, if they could perfect the gapless playback i'd have no reason to have Rockbox.

...well almost no reason. Non square album covers usually dont display at all on the stock os. But i dont care too much about that.

EDIT: Wait nvm i though you were talking about gapless lol. Looks like you meant the weird stuttering that happens from time to time on the stock os.

I haven't been following the thread much lately.

What is the most popular alternative firmware you guys are running and getting best results with?

Say for example I want to run a pair of IEM from headphone out.

I understand there's several firmwares, I want to know what is the most popular currently atm

Yes I talk about the sound stuttering (I didn't know the correct word but I think this is correct). Maybe I will try rocking with dual boot. As for gapless mine is working without problems

Okay, managed to get them installed, identified as Mango USB interface and iBasso Mango HiFi Audio Device. What's next? Tried to use foobar2000 but it says some error with ASIO.

Just got a BSOD when doubke click ASIO for all in foorbar2000 output sertings.

The most popular firmware is definitely Sound Unlocked 1.3.3. I prefer the sound of 1.3.5 beta and I didn't have any issues with it. I've recently switched to Rockbox and I'm loving it, but I understand why some people avoid it!

1.3.5b has problems remembering settings (hidden bootup menu). Once it crashes or hangs, it brakes some file/library "connections" and is stuck on one "sound mode". Only way to get it back working ok is reinstalling firmware. These are Dmitry`s words. That`s why I gave up making more detailed comparing with 1.3.3 and stayed on it. I find nothing wrong with 1.3.3 @ flac-only / irr off / cpu default and find it noticeably better than rockbox.

Sure but I don't think it will be soon.... I have already too much portable amps!
Nevertheless the principle of this E13 is interesting with its dual amplification based on AD823, a fairly old but reliable and punchy op amp, with a clear and detailed signature,.. and it's very affordable! Its THD and SNR are excellent too.
Well... Maybe I will buy it eventually...

Was using sound Unlocked for quite some time. Then the new Doc2008 NEW mega sound explosion V3/V4.......but, you really should give the following a try, really, really very good (yes headphone out) and in Docs statement:
"this firmware are similar to stock sound DX100". You might prefer sound Unlocked (FLAC only mode) or docs (I prefer Docs)

The NEW DX50 Doc's FAVORITE FIRMWARE
