Installed the 1.2.2 sound version, works good. listened for just a few mins but it sounds good. Ill have to do a side by side with my coworkers on the real 1.2.2.

Enjoying this custom firmware with the sound of ver. 1.2.2. Might be not 100% the same (dont remember exactly how the official 1.2.2 worked for my ears), though huge soundstage and the overall SQ make it to be a killer-firmware with all the features of the latest updates.

  Which card reader is this? I have the one with the longer ribbon. I assume this is the one with the short ribbon for around 15 dollars shipped?

It is the one with the 65mm ribbon. I got it from mfactors.com in the USA - prompt delivery and really good service for a total cost of $30.

Interestingly the .img file is only 3/4 the size of the iBasso one. Perhaps this explains the missing fonts

This is worth trying. warthog is right. It wont brick the device. I've checked the .img files that I have here(official FWs). Flashing firmware wont really brick the dap since its more software realated stuff - well unless your flash the firmware on a really bad way.
