hMm never got this spiking volume and freezing issues. Im currently running official 1.2.8 fw. Mine is from batch 8 BTW with 90% flacs and 10% 320s. All tags are cleaned manually.

Im looking forward for the rockbox port.

I set my EQ off(1.2.8). All good with the sounds paired with BH2/rockit sounds r50
I turned it on when is was running on 1.2.6 but still all flat. IMO 1.2.6 is hitting the lows too much. Turning on the EQ without changing anything fixes it.

I'm currently using my DX50 (1.2.8, mostly Redbook files in ALAC, jazz and classical) with either a Tube Amp BL-2 or an iBasso P4, into Grado SR225i or Beyer DT250 / 250 Ohm (hotel room system). I am considering adding a portable standalone SPDIF DAC to increase scale and soundstage, and have identified the following options:

- iBasso D12 (used as a DAC)
- iBasso DB2 (used single-ended, as I don't have a balanced amp)
- Starting Point NOS battery DAC (http://audio.starting-point-systems.com)

Has anyone tried these DACs with the DX50? Will they provide a worthwhile upgrade over and above the DAP's built-in DAC section?

Skip the DB2 and go straight for the PB2. DX50 -> PB2 sounds amazing, especially improving soundstage, separation and impact. (using the balanced output)

PB2 with single-ended input? Will it be substantially better than the P4?

I think there is a picture of that in this thread somewhere, perhaps in on of Jamatos posts

I haven't heard the P4 but the PB2 splits the single-ended input to balanced and it really does sound spectatular. Gave me the raw power & punch (and lots more) of the R1 amp and the soundstage and refinement of the Meier Quickstep in one amp.

+3 , I can attest to this especially if you go balanced. :D

Hi.

I bought a DX50 one week ago, until the moment I didn't have problems.

But, now, I have a persistent problem, two days ago the DX50 didn't boot it only showed the first screen, I made a hard reset with wipe of memory and cache.

Now, DX50 works but it takes a long time to boot (around 5 minutes) then show the main screen but the information of the slider of time of song is not correct (it works well when start the next song) although it is playing well.

The firmware is 1.2.8, I have songs in FLAC, OGG and M4A. I perceived this problem playing OGG.

Can someone help me? Is there some solution?

Thanks.

My suggestion is to reinstall firmware 1.2.8
