The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

Buy it direct from iBasso (their site is back online), there's no duty fees, and you will get the latest version. They also include a silicone case (instead of the pouch) with the latest batch (13th). They ship DHL, I just got mine, took 5 days. Interestingly, it shipped from Singapore, not China.

To my dear X5 demo'ers, is it worth the upgrade?

Yes

Maybe not so interesting, but just want to inform about my usage of my DX50 of the 13th batch running 1.2.8:

No issues at all so far. Have music both on internal memory and external formatted exFat. I don't use artists, albums etc although they are correctly tagged. Just using the file browser.

I like this small machine.

Peef
Perfect ill check it there!

Port is almost done; see status at http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,48058.msg227283.html#msg227283;
you can try to compile your own from git or wait another week (I hope) for first packaged variant.
I can also share compiled binaries, but you will have to install them properly via adb.

Have you tried it on the DX50 yet?

Yes work perfectly out of the box. Write abt 15mbps while my existing SanDisk 64gb write at 10mbps

how much did you spend on it?

Sing dollar 166. Amazon still cheaper but haven factor in forwarder charges

You can increase write speed for x2
Case in mount options. I do not remember how in the windows, but in Linux it's two modes - synchronous and asynchronous, synchronous works reliably, but 2 times slower, simultaneous runs 2 times faster, but you can lose data when a sharp turn off the stick, in this mode it is necessary to perform "safely Remove Hardware"

It can be configured by opening the properties of the device in the "My computer"

Something like "optimize for fast removal" - it should be turned off

Sorry for this question...can the dx50 be used via pc as a dac/amp? Also, could I connect a bifrost to it and just use the amp function?

thanks...

Anyone having issues with the touchscreen sensitivity? I find that if I touch the screen to scroll up or down through a directory listing I wind up selecting whatever I touch and I have to hit the back arrow to return to the directory list. Very annoying! This was with all versions of the firmware including 1.2.8. Response to the pause, forward and backward buttons also remains sluggish.
