Has anyone analysed the EQ curves? ON/OFF and different settings?

Most importantly when picking headphones: What sort of music will you be listening to?

Darrell Scott, Waldemar Bastos, Brad Mehldau, Arvo Part, etc.  I sold my HD650s a while back, I liked the Grado RS1s. I guess i tend to prefer a bit more HF energy. Where do I have to travel to hear some? There was a place in Bangkok, that's a bit far tho!

I don't think anyone seriously put the DX50 under an oscilloscope to analyze the frequency response versus amplitude when EQ is on/off except most likely iBasso however, very doubtful they'll share their measurements with anyone of us other than what they published on their website. It all boils down to experiencing it yourself. I personally don't relate that well to the EQ, I let the DAP be itself and reveal its true personality, it's easier to compare it to other daps that way.

Already did, at home the HD600, on the commute road my Shure SE215 with the Pico Slim attached to the DX50 belly.
Wonderful synergy.

Hey, those are my two go to headphones (right now). SE215/DX50 for work out. HD600 with JDS C5/DX50 if not at my workstation where I use the HD600 with the Schiit Vali. Very satisfying.

Too bad cause the HD600 and HD650 truly shine with the DX50. I play all kinds of music with those headphones and truly feel I don't miss a beat, from classical music to rock. Like the expression says, they rock! Now, I use those headphones with an amp although I did try it without and it still rocks. Now you mentioned that you prefer more HF energy, I am not convinced that is what you are going to experience with those headphones. If you can tolerate iems, the Shure SE535 has this HF energy you are looking for. Truly the DX50 has a tilt on the iems side, that is what it is better designed for, I am not saying you can't drive headphones through it however it will require more energy doing so. Besides, this makes the whole package truly more portable and allows you to shed the unnecessary heavy weigh required with heavier headphone packages, just a personal opinion.

Be careful cause you forget you have the rig close by and your workout turns into muscle building, next thing you know you start looking like Arnold S...

I'm thinking of getting a RSA Shadow or pico slim to replace my C5 and make it more pocketable. Does anyone have pics of this stack and also opinions of the two amps. Will be using stagedivers as the IEM of choice, maybe the heirs if nobody buys/trades them with me.
I still can't grasp the actual size of either amp so a compare with the DX50 would help.
Also have read reports of hiss with pico slim. I hate hiss. Please confirm or deny with DX50.
Thanks and merry xmas.

oops just seen dannybai's post, that makes a much smaller stack. Hiss or no hiss?

As soon as mp4nation ships my dx50 to me, I will have pics with the Shadow.  I have been using the shadow for a few months now with my Sony DAP.  It is definitely smaller than I imagined it, and allows me to pocket the stack still.
