Justin was kind enough to let me borrow the GS-X MKII after the Atlanta meet and all I can say is I really enjoy my time with the MKII so far.  Headphones of choice are the R10 & Qualia via balanced output connectors.  Seriously speaking, the R10 & Qualia + GS-X MII gives comparable performance to my SR-009+BHSE.  For female vocals materials, I even prefer the R10+GS-X MKII from time to time.  Of course, my BHSE is still new and need a serious burnin but my point it the GS-X MKII is one hell of an amp.  It is also an absolute dream to use with all the ins/outs that I can ever want.  Those who got their order in before the price increased got an an incredible steal for their money.

I want someone to post what they thought of the OG GS-X vs the mkII.  I was probably one of the few that could have at one point but I messed that up bad.

I can try to do that but I only have lower impedance phones, which according to Justin won't see sonic benefits from the new GS-X MKII module unlike harder to drive headphones.

Not the GS-X, but the mk2 is quite different, better, than the GS-1 w/ DACT I had.

Not saying much...so is my GS-X with the original Dynalo modules over the GS-1 I had. With the new Dynalo+ modules, things did get better...more authoritative amp with better punch (especially on my LCD-3s).

Edit: I was confused by those measurements until I went back and saw you mentioned that as shipping dimensions which makes more sense.
 
The MK2 unit's physical dimensions are: 14" x 8 5/8" (excludes input jacks & volume pot) x 2 5/16" (includes height of feet). PSU chassis has the same dimensions.

My impression of the MK2 and the Audio-Technica AD2K when I first listened: more immediate, faster, & heavier bass over the MK1! The MK1 was obviously my favorite amp with the AD2K (heh) and the MK2 is even better. I've seriously never heard the AD2K sound as good as it does on the MK2. It's seriously the best that I've heard from it yet. The AD2K's bass now is just....awesome. It's even more of a visceral monster now!

Incidentally, A Headamp amplifier I liked the best was the Gilmore lite. I liked it for it's simplicity and an excellent price/performance ratio. I bought the GS-X used and liked it for a while. Still, it never really impressed me and once I opened it up, it was quite clear why that was. The design itself was exemplary - basically a school example of tidy signal path and component arrangement. The components themselves were a different story unfortunately. Their quality was mediocre at best. All of them were through-hole types but it didn't take me long to realite that replacing them for something better would cost the same as what I paid for it. I just don't think this amplifier is all it could have been and as far as I am concerned, they ruined the otherwise solidly engineered amplifier by cutting the cost down on parts' quality,
 
I think it is time for the Headamp team to make use of the modular construction and design amplifier stages with something that would compare more favorably to the newcomers.

And BTW, starting with GS-1 Headamp do use modular design.

The guy is an idiot, no doubt about that.  I guess he thought the Xicon resistors were the similarly looking crap you'll find in Chinese gear.  People who have been paying attention might notice they are on the official BOM for the KGSSHV project and the T2DIY.  We aren't exactly known to scrimp on parts or use anything but the best... 
 
The parts you see in that picture are polypropylene caps for local PSU bypass and for the servo, Panasonic FC power caps and Bourns trimmers.  This is all the same stuff you would find in a 40k$ MSB dac.
