I'm actually losing my enthusiasm for the HF-2, and wishing I had put the money towards the HD800. How ironic that I cancelled my original HD800 order (because of the wait and uncertainty) and put the money towards the HF-2. Now the 800 is here and the it's the HF-2 that is in indefinite wait mode.

Will this be a more affordable way to reach RS-1i sound quality?

Now, would you say that the HF2 trumps the cans mentioned above?
Waiting for more fuel to the fire...

Does that reflect your stylistic preference for the particular presentation that the woodied HF-1 presents, or do you believe it has 'objectively' better sound quality?

Because I would find it difficult to make a credible argument that the HHF-1 is a technically superior headphone.

I think listening is always subjective. But I feel like RS1s are deeply flawed headphones. They're way too colored to ever be great. My woodied HF1s are significantly less colored than RS1s, and the HF2s are better in every way than either. As with all opinions, any opinion I state belongs to me.

Do I think HF2s are perfect? Of course not. They're not even the best headphones I've owned. But they're darn good, and they're the best grados I've owned.

i wouldn't be surprised if the HF2 is on the same level as the RS1 or better. the HF1 were claimed by many to have sound quality worth twice it's price similar to the level to the RS2's. they are, after all, considered to be "baby PS1000s".

i have no idea how they sound, but i try to keep in mind it's basically the same 2-3 people that keep praising it. hopefully we get more reviews in before the ordering period stops, but i dunno this place is a pretty good hype machine. seems that headphones that were the hot new thing when i joined are now overrated and terrible headphones now. anyways maybe im just trying to rationalize not spending $430 i dont have
