The FitEar CIEM Impressions Thread

Thank you both. Good to know it doesn't hiss, but sounds like it's just as analytical and bright as it's older sibling. Shame, I read some impressions that suggested it was more forgiving. Most of my music is of ghetto quality. I guess the search continues.

Is that SR-upgrade adding titanium tube to treb-bore? tks.

2 things the SR-upgrade do AFAIK:

1. Yes add Ti tube to treble driver sound bore
2. Swap the crossover circuit for an upgrade one

I believe they also change the crossover of the 335s.

Cant wait for Jaben singapore to start offering the service!

Edit: I was too slow.

Do you know, how they determine which 335DW that can be upgraded to SR ?

IIRC you'd have to send your set in for FitEar to check whether your ear canals can accommodate the changes.
I can't remember if any other part of the ear needs to meet any requirements (for the crossover, maybe outer ear?), so maybe someone more knowledgeable could chime in!

What are the sonic differences between the 335DW and the SR?

I have a custom 335DW and mine has two bores. I was looking at Google images and some 335 pictures on Headfonia and noticed that the 335 there has 3 bores. Help?

Since all the bores have to be the same size. It's depended on the size of your ear canal. Some 335 will only have one bore. All of them will start from three separated ports from three groups of BAs but merge into two or even one bore depended on available space on the stem.

The downside of two or one bore is that you can't upgrade to SR. Even your 335 have three bores, it didn't mean that you can upgrade to SR.
