Why seems to be so much secrecy about X3 II amp section?... Is there any possibilty that it's changed from test units to the final release (similar to what Xuelin has made with their Ihifi 800)?

I don't think so.   I'd rather keep it as portable as possible so the smaller the better for me.

I agree small is good for portability as long as it isn't so small that it becomes difficult to operate for people with large hands. Mine aren't large..maybe more medium sized. I read in a post about the X1 that some people felt the text on the screen was a bit small but I never read anyone saying the unit felt too small. It looks like its about the same width as the X3 but a little shorter.

Do you think it's too small? Maybe not big enough to be comfortable in the hand.

I have a sony walkman A17, that's the definition of protable, small and light weight

yep I know that but the UI is better, is fast. ut most important the SQ, wish i had one x3 II to test the walkman vs the x3 II. One problem i had with my fiio x3 (first generation) was floating boices and violins, so far I like the SQ on the sony for being correct, altought sounds similar of the fiio x3 LO, but also sony A17 con is the weak amp section

I used to have a sony walkman a few years ago and it felt too small in my hand. I found a case for it to make it feel more substantial. The ipods are even worse. My wife has the most recent nano and it's so thin I find it hard to hold. Apple has an obsession with making things thin.

don't know the sound of modern ipods but the classic sucked so bad, i like the SQ of my fiio x3 I, and the SQ of the walkman
