What transfer speeds are yall getting on your Class 10 SD cards?  I haven't received my 128GB one, but my 64GB Samsung Class 10 is only getting ~10 MB/s

True to everything, but even at $290, the X3ii is still a deal. With everything it plays, and how it sounds over the original, I happily paid that.

I thought I remembered seeing you over on the orig. x3 thread. Didn't you ditch the first gen for a smart phone or something?

The reviews have been rather impressive, but I'm going to hold out for the new X5. If I'm going to upgrade, might as well go big (well bigger anyways, the x7 has no appeal to me). Not looking forward to see how much that gets marked up here.

Why does the equalizer make absolutely no change in sound?

So the EQ makes no difference in DSD or 192/24?  EXCELLENT!!

Yes, that was me. I decided that I just couldn't, no matter how hard I tried, get the performance of DAP from a phone. So I'm back with the new gen., and loving it with my Aurisonics.

I would vote for quality over quantity. I am not talking about lossy vs. lossless.

I would much rather have 300 excellent CDs with me than 600+ good and ok CDs. Aren't there some of your CDs that aren't as good as others that can go on another card?

I have thousands of albums (CDs, vinyl, even cassette) - what I'm into at any given moment depends on my mood. I have a slew of choices at home. I want to have a good cross-section of my music in my pocket at any given time.

That is ok... But we are different... 2500-3000 tracks are enough for me for two weeks... And I prefer Flac quality over mp3... Some exceptional good mastering and recording might sound almost the same in Flac or mp3. But in general there is a difference. (Of course it also depends on what headphone you use....)

Of course there is a difference, but to me its a minor issue to give up a bit of sound quality for portability's sake. When I'm home, I never use my DAP - I listen to the original, physical media in its pure, lossless form.

EQ works only for 44.1k and 48k PCM. Doesn't function for higher sampling rates and DSD. Limitation of DSP. As for DSD, AFAIK there is no digital EQ for DSD format yet, in the whole world.

I was mainly talking about 192/24, DSD is too big really for a 128GB SD card.

About the different retail price between U.S and other countries , please noted that it is illegal to control the price , also  the VAT/Customs fee is different too.

James, I don't think anyone is pointing at FiiO for the price differences. Personally, I'm glad your suggested prices are so low. Thanks for all you do. :)

I definitely agree with you. Most of my life prices have always been higher than in the US for just about everything. It's nothing to do with the manufacturers. Even when the Canadian dollar was on par with the US dollar imported good still cost more.
